Hmm, the GeForce 8xxx series are rumoured to support DX10 afaik..
However, seeing as those're rumoured to be out in June/July, I think it's smarter to wait for Crysis to come out with buying a DX10 GPU in order to be pretty sure you can run it maxed..
And you can't run DX10 without Vista anyway, and Vista isn't due out until Q1 2k7 afaik.

And I'm definitely waiting for those GF8xxx cards to come out before I upgrade. Shoot, I might as well wait until the second generation of the cards come out. Those are always much better. Just look at the 6xxx versus the 5xxx, and the GF4 versus GF3.

I'll do what I can, provided my registration gets sorted out! I had everything ... the two documents showing my employment at a game publisher, faxed it days before the deadline, and when I didn't get my badge I called and they said they had no record of my registration. So they had me fax the docs again to another number with the previous fax confirmation printout and I'm still waiting on that

Although to be truthful, the event is kinda overrated if you're just any shmoe walking around. I went last year and though I was hampered by booth duty I got to see most of what was out on the floor, and the only things I had to show for it were aching legs and ringing ears. All those crazy videos that you see on the Internet? Those are behind long-ass lines. I just saw them on the Internet like everyone else.
