Hi Folks,

I'm a long time half-life fan and have recently finished my Gordon freeman custom Figure, which has been on my to do list for years. a friend suggested I post it here for comments and opinions, so here I am!

I realise there's been a pretty recent post (or Two) on this subject by Jin Saotome, and personally I think his take on Freeman was fantastic, though I was slightly disappointed with the level of accuracy. I've tried to make mine as faithful as I could, but this is my first ever custom so please take that into consideration.

Anyways, have a look, and let me know what you think!

Excellent work man!

Paint job and hair texture could use a little work though, but great job.

I think people have an unhealthy obsession with Mr. Freeman that should stop in order to start having an unhealthy obsession with Alyx Vance instead.

but seriously it rocks!!. The crates need to be painted tho.

That is an incredibly good job for a first custom. Also am I correct in assuming this is 6" scale? Bonus points if it is. Really great job.

What was the recipe if you don't mind my asking?

Thanks for your comments folks! greatly appreciated, and yes, my painting is a trifle on the amateur side- more practice needed I guess. The crates were kind of thrown in at the last minute too, hence them not being painted.

To answer your questions Darkside, it is indeed 6" scale, the base figure was a water squirting variant Spider Man figure (bad choice as it turns out, the shoulder and neck proportions were way out- see pic) with the head of an X-men Angel and lower arms/feet from a mister Fantastic figure. the rest is just painted sculpey, except his glasses (blister pack plastic) and the handle on his back (a plastic coated paperclip). Finally, I made his crowbar by filing and reshaping a plastic rod I salvaged from a knackered old stereo.

once again, thanks for the comments, keep them coming!

Cool to see the wip shot. You've got the talent to make a better one from scratch. Never use super sculpey for customizing an action figure. Aves apoxie sculpt is a better choice.

I so want one of these, it's amazing, looks like it was "professionally made".

I think that his neck is way too far up from his torso.

Wow, looks like a winar but theres a tiny detail missing and I just can't put my finger on it. (not a joke)

EDIT: gah one moar poast and its over threehundreeeeeeeeeeeeed!
