Hello all,
New to this forum and HL2.
Just ordered the game - should be here in a couple of days.
Not new to HL the original game.
Was a bit disheartened when HL2 first came out due to the difficulties with steam. Hope it is much easier these days.
Also had to wait and save to get a new PC that was fast enough to run it.
Looking forward to the game and this forum.

Welcome to our fabulous repocracy of tranquilizer minions, please enjoy your stay.

Ahh, Steam's fixed most of its issues. Nowadays you just get the occasional news-update error or something insignificant like that. So welcome to the forum, it's a good one.

Que: You lost me at "to" D:

Welcome, and it really is a great game, but playing it this late when games like Crysis are coming out, I doubt you'll love it as much as some of us.. *looks around*

Hi!... *Fires e-bomb at steam network community* I dont think itll work on steam so well no more.... *puts on kevlar incase of tranquilizers*

How so? What difficulties?

Anyway, hi there!

Cormeh,
I read on the Sierra Forum about so many frusturated gamers trying to install the Steam software and make it work - cannot recall specifics but it made me want to wait a while before attempting the game so the problems could be sorted out as my PC skills are not so hot.
I had played the original HL and been waiting for HL2 for a long time.
Hopefully my 28.8 dial up will allow gameplay.
Anyway, thank you all for the welcome and looking forward to the game and involvement in this community.

Well, I would recommend at least a broadband connection, but good luck all the same.

Steam, in my opinion, is a great tool.

Speak for yourself. Some of us like games for their gameplay, not their graphics :|

Welcome, though, Scutch! You'll love HL2 if you enjoyed HL.

Darth Sidious, we have closer to 60,000 registered members. It's just that we autodelete inactive accounts, so there are only 18,000 active ones :P

Yeah Gameplay is much more important than the graphics, i played a windows 95 game a year ago, although the graphics sucked and it was in black and white, the stroyline rocked and it was fun, as for Steam, i say Steam Rocks and Steam Wll forever Rock(until something happens) Anyways can anyone tell me about 'Won'?

You don't count the dead people when you take population ;)

Woah wtf post #7000. That came up super fast.

*reports Qonfused to police for immorality* :p

Steam is... I will say that Steam is better than it used to be. For instance, most people now find that it is functional.
