About: The other save game manager didn't work so well for me and my brother so we made a new one in VB.

Instructions: Copy the Save Game Manager.exe to any folder you like.

If you already have characters make sure you copy each characters saves to oblivion/saves/Character Name/

When you run the program it will scan the save directory for character directories. Upon hitting load it will alter your oblivion.ini's default save location. This allows for all characters to have their own autosave.

You can also create a new character which again changes the defualt save location and auto creates the directory (oblivion can auto create, but this is just safer).

Prompts

Active Save - the current active save
Last Operation - Load or New
Outcome of Operation - Success or Fail. Fail shouldn't happen.

/New Version - The program can now be run from anywhere.

Brilliant! I just fixed my saved games from what the other manager screwed up.

Downloaded and installed.

I have a problem, only showing 1 or 2 of my characters? I have one folder called "Nick" with 300+ saves in and my new one "Urial Throne" with 3 saves in, it only shows Urial?

It should show any directory under saves. Post a screenshots please. With the prog open and my computer or something with the saves dir. I've tested with a bunch of names and it works fine. I can't see the problem. Tested on my brothers laptop too with dummy directories.

/edit redownload.

The newest version should fix your problem Mutley, I can only imagine the problem was happening if the program was in the wrong location, although it wouldn't have worked much at all if that were the case. But the new version is independent of location, stick it anywhere you want and it'll run fine. If your problem (or a new one) persists, do let Kyo know so we can try and fix it ^^.

Good work guys, im surprised Bestheda didnt include Profiles themselves, considering thats useful for console games aswell....

Works now. :D

Thanks a bunch. Is it possible for you to make a feature to "Launch Game"?

Launch game... erm, I suppose it's possible. I'll see what I can do!

Edit: Okay, I've coded in a button to open the game and set up registry reading to check the oblivion reg entry that tells you where oblivion is installed, so once I know what the specific entry is I need (I don't have oblivion installed right now), it'll be done. So within 20hrs (sleep time now) expect a version with a "Launch Game" button ^^.

New Version available here We are now working on the program having it's own .ini file to remember settings for the difficulty slider and screenshot renaming. More features coming as suggested.

v1.6.4 is complete. Now it has switches, theres a way you have to pass these if you want to use them.
Say you have a shortcut on the desktop called 'Oblivion - myChar' that you want to load your character, not anyone elses, you'd have it run: "[path to saveman]\"TES IV Save Manager.exe" [switch]"

The switches are -N or -L and are used like so:
-N:charName
-L:charName

Easy enough yes? Also, theres a 'Quit On Game Launch:" checkbox, have it ticked if you want the saveman to quit when you hit 'launch game' the setting is remembered for each character in the saveman.ini.

Enjoy!
