Nightwatch mod postponed

Maybe they should release a showreel so we can congratulate them on what they'd achieved so far. The dev blog's tone wasn't one that sounded optimistic in the least about picking the project up again. It would probably be more helpful to write a post-mortem for the ModDB or something to show what they did right and what they failed on.

Apperntly Dave L forced them to close down by letter bombing their coders...
It's being posted on planet halflife soon.

Apparently you didn't read the post button clearly. It said: "Post Quick Reply", not: "Fill the below space with bullshit and be sure to smile smugly to yourself aftterwards for your valuable contribution to the internet" :O

Is that not the same button Nuclear Dawn PR officers use?

I often use the "Post Quick Reply" button to make my responses, yes.

I came here for beer and chicks, but I found none :(

To be honest, I never actually heard of the mod before this. Ironic. Even then, reading the descriptions of why the mod failed, I know all too well from experience that 50% of self-professed modders make absoutely no contribution to a team at all (no, I'm not talking about Zombie Master). However, what the guy did wrong was that he gave up too, when everyone knows, if everyone else is too lazy to do something, you kick them off the team and do as much as possible by yourself.

Plus, DaveL is one word. It's libellous to spell it any other way.

Poor old Nightwatch.

I remember this mod from when it was first announced- I was convinced it was going to be the next big thing :(

Sigh...

No, you were doing what most people from Burnley do: not having any real opinion of your own so going with the majority, no matter how misguided they may be.

ZING!

Anyway, I came here to talk about Nightwatch, so let's try to keep it on topic, okay?
You don't think I have a unique political opinion? Ha, get into the politics forum nub. Don't you have old media to re-release?

That's a valid point. I find myself sometimes being the only one working on stuff and it's at that point I pull people together and restart trying to engage people who are still around back into getting work done in small steps. Doing that shows your commitment and can spark interest again.
