Since I owe my name to them and no one else made a thread about it yet, here it is. Oasis, for the time being, is no more. Yes, the brothers have been fighting many a time before, but this time it seems serious enough to be really called a split. Andy Bell has chosen sides with Liam and they want to go on with the band. Noel hasn't said anything yet about his plans for the future.

I personally don't see Oasis without either of the brothers. Liam with the other new guys just isn't the same band. Noel has written most of their songs and all of their hits, plus he is their main guitar player and the singer of some of their best songs. If anything it will be a tribute band with the original frontman.

I do hope Noel makes a solo album. He will probably team up with Paul Weller and maybe Richard Ashcroft. It will be really interesting to see what he comes up with, without Liam f***ing up the recording sessions.

Needless to say I am in Team Noel. Our Kid can sod off for all I care.

Noel will have no trouble with a solo career, he's pretty damn awesome

Early stuff is great, but I kind of lost interest after what's the story morning glory. Frankly Noel seems like a decent guy most of the time, where as Liam is by and large a moody mouthy twat in need a good kicking every so often. Still part of me thinks this in one of those 'non-news' items, and that in about a month it will all be hugs and kisses again.

I certainly don't hope they come back together soon. Noel needs to do a solo album first. I have no doubt though there will be reunion gigs and maybe even new albums.

There should be no Oasis without Noel. This has come off the back of one of their longest ever tours and the arguing has reached crisis point. In 3-5 years, after Noels got his solo album out of his system, the band will be back to release their next album in timely fashion.

That, or they will both come back off holiday, play down all the split up as an argument and carry on as normal.

Lets face it, this wouldn't be the first or even second time Noel's huffed off a tour vowing it was the end.

Ill admit they have some good songs but they were massive pricks, they did my head in. I don't really care what they do next tbh.

The thought of a Noel Gallagher/Richard Ashcroft collaboration has me all tingly.

I don't listen to Oasis. But Liam's a dick and Noel apparently wrote all the good songs, so I'm going to have to go with Noel.

I would love to see a Noel solo album, but goddamn I'm going to miss Liam's singing. Still, I doubt Oasis could try for a new sound without Noel. Liam's written some good songs, but he has nowhere near the quantity or quality that Noel produced.

I'm on team 'Stop ****ing around and get back together Oasis'.

Wow that acoustic version of wonderwall is so awesome. I think I prefer it over Liam's voice now. You definitely appreciate it more when the song is stripped down to the bone. Now I know why I always liked that song.

Don't Look Back In Anger was one of the first songs I bought so it would have to be Noel.

Oasis is quite overrated, but Noel did write few decent singles in the mid-90s, so I guess I prefer him. I would never spend money on a Noel solo album, as I seriously doubt it will be an improvement over the shit that Oasis has made in the last 13 years.

Well most of the music was mediocre, and both of them are pricks, so I for one am quite indifferent to this.

Back together in a month, I'll bet.

All of them are giant dicks. But some good songs though.

x band isn't x band without y member. always has been that way, always will be. thats why i'd never see a band like the allman brothers or the dead, because they're missing such integral members.

:D I once saw Oasis live in Manchester on the cricket grounds across from Old Trafford and Richard joined them on stage for Don't Look Back in Anger. I think. My memory of that day is quite hazy due to copious amounts of lager and some hits from a joint I was offered by a stranger (always a good idea, not). One of the most memorable gigs I have ever seen.

Btw Supposedly Ashcroft plays the keys on this track.

I consider Ronnie Woods a member of the Stones, even though he joined the band about ten years after it was formed. Some times it can work. I mean, look at Oasis. Liam and Noel were the only original band members left. I miss Bonehead :(

Oasis is very overrated.

Once you've listened to one Oasis song, you've listened to them all.

They're both equally terrible.

This basically, I liked Oasis's first album but as Mellish put, you've heard one you have heard them all pretty much. The Verve have like two songs that are good, ridiculously overrated.

I ****ing hated Liam's voice anyways.

More power to Noel.

which brother is the younger one? he's a dick, the other brother is less of a dick. their attitude (especially the younger guy) turned me off their music a few years back

Their attitude never really bothered me at all. I don't see how it is any different from John Lennon's or Johnny Rotten's. Naturally, both The Beatles and Sex Pistols were better bands than Oasis, but my point still stands.

john lennon wasnt an ass 24/7 and while outspoken he didnt do it for the sake of being outspoken. Liam on the other hand, is just an ass with nothing worthwhile to say

This, this, absolutely this.
