noob needs a bit of help....

hi I just purchased this game today and have to say the graphics hands down are some of the best I have ever seen. I have been stuck playing it for 6 hours or so and find myself stuck on "we dont go to ravenholm" chapter. I dont know what I have done wrong obviously but I keep going in circles and cant seem to get past it. If anyone can help a half life2 noob out I would appreciate it. Thanks for anything in advance.

I passed the electric fence a while ago...I got passed the big fire as well...and have seen the pastor(a couple of times already...on the most recent he told me that I need to go to the church before it is too late...I have also recieved a shotgun from him)....I seem to just be going in circles....I have gone above the streets and gotten back to the building...I have gotten to a point where I think I need to back-track but I have a fence in the way....where there is a car with a ramp to the fence....this is where I finally saved and stopped at b/c I cant figure out where I should be going?

Ahhh...I think I see what you mean...he just gave you the shotgun and now you have to progress. You shot all those demented things I hope and you took the elevator down to ground level and your stuck there? If so (and I could be wrong) there is a ladder on a wall a ways down to the left of the elevator, you have to go up the ladder and on to a beam and then into a window of a building and progress from there. I'm not sure if this is right or not. I hope it helps. GOOD LUCK!! :thumbs:

yes I did pass the elevator took it down which is where I took a wood ramp over a half buried car to go over a fence...once over the fence this is where I get stuck...I have been at the area after that for a couple of hours trying to figure out where I am supposed to go....I cannot seem to find a window or anything to know where to go. I even used to gravity gun to stack furniture to get back over the fence to try and back track thinking that I went the wrong way...the thing is of course...the elevator would not go back up...which meant to me that I have to be on the right course. This is the area where I switched a lever to move a mechanical device so that I could use it to jump onto while scaling the upper level of the city. Of course once at the end of where I can go I jump across to the other side where the metal collapses and I realize I have already been to this building before....this is where I get stumped.
