ok I can spawn npc's with the weapons I want and all that but I can not get them to do anything other than stare at me does anyone know how to get them to move and all that stuff.....

npc's like combine, alyx etc dont work in hl2dm 
Yeah they don't work in DM.. I've heard of certain NPCs working with certain weapons (as in, the ones they normally have in SP), but only in SP.. as far as DM is concerned, stick with monsters... for more info on getting them to work, check out my tut.. it's stickied on this board
