Now that HL2DM works..whats next..zzz

I join in to a local server and the lag is horrible.. however my ping is about 30-40..not only am i getting this problem..actually everyone from SG who joins in says the lag is very bad..teleportation..freezing..and it simply spoils the gameplay...
