Do you mean, like, game files, like music and stuff? Because there are files, how the hell else would you run the game?


And you guys need to be quiet about Steam. It works fine now. If you're complaining about the need of an internet connection to play single-player, maybe you should read about why you do. Also, if you have 56k, let it sit overnight for two nights. You can wait that long.

You don't need a constant connection to play Single-player, that's all offline. You just need one to verify your HL2.

Until I set the thing to "always allow connection," my firewall came up with that warning everytime I ran the game. You need a connection when you first start so that Valve can verify it is a legally bought copy.

Unless the law suddenly changed the 16th, it's still illegal to own stolen software, plus the sourcecode leak contains sensitive material that Valve isn't too keen on. And why would you wanna discuss a buggy PoS when you've got the full game? And you might spoil yourself, because most likely, many of the stuff that got cut will appear in expansions and HL3.

some of us dont need to be quiet about steam... it just suddenly died on my comp, i cant launch it, tried reinstalling and it didnt help. i hope reformatting works but im too damn lazy to do any of that and i would have to back up a bunch of shit and i have no cds. i wish i could get some help with this so i didnt have to reformat but i guess no one knows whats wrong from the lack of replies i have seen on the threads i have started
