Oblivin Portals Suck

And no, my endurance isn't in "dire need of attention". I left it at base, because that's the type of character I play. The way I play, if i'm spotted, i'm toast. As you've probably read, I play a thief/assasin character. Slip into the shadows, get three or four sneak blade hits on a guy, and he's done.

I spend my points when I level, one on blade, one on either Agility or Speed (whichever gets the higher + per point), and one on whatever my character seems to be leaning towards (right now, intelligence or willpower).

I don't need endurance cause half the time, they don't even see me
I don't understand those classes man. I've never died, so I just can't see playing a class where if they see you, you are dead. I can't see how you can be so sneaky and walk right up to them without them seeing you. Do you ever accidentally run into them and do they know you are there then? Can you really stab them 3 times before before they even know you are there? I would think after the first hit your cover is blown. I've never even tried chameleon yet. I'm about to experiment with that sigil stone you were talking about with 30% chameleon. I got that on one save. Does it make you sort of invisible or does it just make your stealth better? I won't be able to tell because OLDblivion doesn't support that invisibility effect :(

I just rush them, trumpets blaring. :D I am seriously like a freakin' ogre, but I make ogre's look weak. I hit everything so hard I knock them backwards and knock them silly and they shake their head to clear the dizzy. When any enemies hit me, you can hardly tell - my health bar hardly even moves. It moves about 1 pixel. This might change as I get a higher level though. My stats can only go so high.

I think you made a mistake there... how do you put points on blade? What did you really mean I wonder? I've just become master of blades. When you do you learn a new move that really kicks ass.

I can sneak enough to be able to get at least one sneak attack with the bow, sometimes they never figure out where I am and I can continue to launch arrows at them from range - you can focus (zoom in) with the bow once you get skilled with it.

Armourer skill is one of the best things to have as a major skill as well as well, especially if you are portal hopping
As a minor skill, I've finally got to expert armorer. I'd been fixing everything I find, just for practice, even If I throw it out. :D

With Expert Armorer, now I can repair weapons and armor to 125 % instead of 100%. Weapons do more damage, and armor has a higher armor class. :cheese:

Well, i've got sneak at about 125.

The whole thing with more than one sneak attack really depends on your enviroment and what you're attacking. If you're up against a necromancer, they're usually smart enough to know what happened and where the attack came from. Same with Bandits. Ogres on the other hand, I managed to get five sneak attacks in on this one Ogre during the azura's star quest. But Vampires generally will activate detect life and your cover is blown.

But yeah, it just depends. Zombies, if you're fast enough, you can get as many sneak attacks as you want on them. Trolls are the same. Daedra are way too smart, same with Dremora such. Scamps can be tricky, but you can maybe get one or two hits on them.

This is with the 30% chameleon now. After you smack a hit in, you have to move as far away as you can from the enemy, as they will then blindly charge your previous position. Once they notice you're not there, then you can come in for another, then sprint again, rinse repeat.

On the chameleon, it depends on what your back is on. If you're back to back with a wall, and you're up against a necromancer (who saw you already), then you're boned. If there's a big gap between you and the wall, you could probably stand maybe 10 feet away from him without moving, and he'll walk past you.

Master sneak is AWESOME. Once you get to master, not only will sneak attacks do 6x damage, but they'll also ignore any armor that your enemy has.

Oh and by blade, I mean strength. Sorry, my bad :P

On the subject of Oblivion portal strategy, I've just recently shifted my arse into completing the first few missions of the main quest, and have subsequently found Oblivion portals appearing now.

(They never seem to appear while you still hold the Amulet of Kings - apart from Kvatch).

A good tactic is to stock up on cold. Destruction spells such as cold touch and snowball, enchanting blades/blunts/bows to do cold damage. I've noticed that the Daedric enemies and the various other creatures are vulnerable to cold. Except Frost Atronachs obviously.

I would probably get crushed in the portals too, if it hasn't been for my bow - it's just a silver bow with iron arrows (Bow = 4dmg, Arrow = 4dmg, All = 8dmg), the trick is to be a big wuss and dodge them while shooting! Hurray for wussiness!

Oh ya, if you get a scamp with a sneak attack, you can probably kill him in 2-3 hits. It takes my about 9-10 hits, because I'm in like 75% difficulty. but meh.
