So who is suffering it's wrath this year? I am :( In Singapore, a levels can determine your future pretty much. And I take a science and math stream of subjects.

You mean a level, as in 'World 1-1 in Super Mario World is a level in the game'

Or do you mean an a-level, like an alpha level or something?

You're insane as it stands, however, soulslicer.

Level 9 I'd say.

A level exams for god's sake. Anyone from the europe UK area or Asia should know..

A-levels were tough for me because I did Maths, English, and Electronics. I thought I wanted to do something computer based all up until year 13, when I found my true calling in writing. Needless to say, the maths became obsolete but I couldn't fail it so I had to work really hard.

Is this equivilent to the HSC? D:

Basically, around the time the yanks graduate from high school, us Brits are sitting in halls doing a whole steam of hard exams called A-Levels, that will determine whether or not we get into university.

I messed mine up quite badly, but I still got enough to do Computing at Manchester uni :D

Yeah Britain is one of the most tested countries in the world. It means we're cleverer.

I also have my A-Levels approaching. Due to doing shit in my AS-Levels I'm taking two Math re-sits, I have 3 Maths exams in January :(

On this subject, do you have to do General Studies and Key Skills? I mean what the **** is the point of that shit. :sniper:

Haha Key Skills, we used call that retard IT. Good luck with that ;) And yeah you have to do General Studies exams, we had three, and failed each one, mainly because I just write random stories on them, as well as experimental song lyrics haha.

If you're only talking about competition, then people who get into IITs must be the smartest bunch in the world.

So those taking it this year. How's the progress so far guys? I know there are people taking this, and I'd just like to know who. The last time I posted this, it was covered by a barrage of other threads and no one noticed. So I bumped. Let's all wallow in sorrow..

Well i'm not taking a levels but their scottish equivalent (advanced highers) and it's going well so far :)

Well I'm doing great!

For Product Design I've got A in everything so far, meaning the final exam, worth 40% at A level and I already have a B grade. Need 41/120 for an A. I'm aiming for 100/120 at least.

Art - Yeah, never had anything less than an A since year 7. Well on course for a top A grade.

History - A in the coursework, I'd be gutted if I didn't get an A overall.

So, AAA bitches. I'm then going on to do a BA in World Domination before a Masters in Win. Oh and Documentary photography.

I'm having some problems though, my head is SO BIG that I find it difficult to move around these days.

:cheese:

I had to retake my Unit 1 for the third time yesterday, and Unit 3 for my second. ****ing hate those papers but I'm pretty sure I've done well on the Eco products paper for Unit 3 and Unit 1... well, who knows. Have hated PD for a while now. Seriously not looking forward to PD6. :(

So yeah, I've one more exam which is PD6 and that's June. I've done my 15 hours art which I scored highly in, and my work all together is B/A so that's cool. Our art gallery presentation night thingy is tonight, too.

Either way, I got into my Foundation course on my portfolio anyway, and my first choice (Falmouth, Illustration) wants a Foundation merit and portfolio above everything else so I've pretty much been putting all my effort into the design elements of Product Design, my art course and work out of college.

Sweet man. I looked at Falmouth for press photography, it's so new and snazzy! Went with Newport though, because I think the course will suit me more.

I reckon they should get rid of the papers for DT really, we spend decades on the projects and then there's a silly exam which you can't really revise for and it's worth far too many marks for what it is! Did you ever do a Product Analysis? Now that was shit.

Yeah I'm really determind to go there. I'm going down in the summer with some friends but because my Foundation course in Stafford is a year I won't be going (if at all!) until, well... next October or whatever.

We did a small Product Analysis at AS level which was taking apart a product and writing about it (I did a N64 controller) and this year we did a Product Study which was a proper in depth analysis essay on a product (I used my Trek Pilot 1.0 bike, pretty sure I scored highly but who knows)

I already did mine HA HA HA HA

I don't think I really have much else to add.

Yech, still got most of mine to go, but this year's Mechanics paper was bloody hard, and i was expecting to get a good mark in it, because i suck at Core maths. Oh well.

Mine were done and dusted a year ago, now I'm into my fourth 1st year exam at uni with 2 more to go and a presentation to do tomorrow D:

Ah well, in just over a week i'll have 4 months of nothing but TF2, beer and festivals. :D
