Read the interview here now!

In ArmA, as in Flashpoint before it, you're just a soldier. There is a war raging around you which you didn't plan to be in, but you are a professional and you can (and must) handle it. The situation is quite complicated - there are just a few US soldiers left on the island when the invasion begins so you can't simply start a full scale conflict. You help the local militia in their desperate attempts to defend their country, but they are just farmers, not professional soldiers. On the other side there is a real army with old but heavy weaponry and you have to understand that you and your team-mates are the only force that stands in their way.

My hype-meter just rose exponentially - this game looks and sounds like the best game ever made
Hyper-realistic war FTW!!!

Not necessarily unique.

Read the operation flashpoint thread...

Its like a better graphics release of that game, with some other gameplay improvements too.

cant get through to the interview either, do we haveto be members? could you just copy and paste it?

on the game, looking forward to it, i got OP:F back in the day but my comp was a pos so it didnt run well and the graphics were a bit shit, this new version doesnt look that good graphically either but the gameplay should be teh pwn, wonder what MP will be like?

DEMO FTW!!!!

I don't get why you guys are so superhyped about this.. OFP2/Game2/ArmA2, is far more hyped for me, I mean, that's as much an RPG as a sim, not to mention it has a FULLY dynamic campaign, sure ArmA will be good, but Game2 seems far more revolutionary, hell even the devs have said that ArmA is just a small testing ground for Game2, just like OFPElite(XB1) was a testing ground for the ArmA graphics engine(DX9 effects like normalmapping, bloom/HDR, etc)

Also, I'm guessing MP will be good, MP on OFPElite was great, and ArmA uses all the upgrades that OFPElite recieved, such as upgraded graphics, physics and AI engines, heck, even the character models from OFPElite are used in Armed Assault.:)

It will be something to do until ArmA2 anyway.

Even if all they do is fix up multiplayer a bit and enhance the graphics, this will be the best tactical shooter in years.

I just had a nerd orgasm over all this new information.

Do they still have those god-aweful character models? Im on 56k and don't feel like spending 8 hours rummaging through screens.
