I read somewhere in these forums that it was posible to install the same HL2 retail copy on two computers...
Well, I would like to install my brothers copy on my computer.

To make it work I have to use his Steam-account, right?

Is there any more in it than that?

no you are wrong

you have to use YOUR steam account on HIS pc.
hl2 is bound to YOUR steam account ... wherever you access your steam account, you are able to play hl2.

it is his brothers steam account/hl2 version, so he has to use it on his pc

If you brothers are sharing the same IP on iNet, then you both can log into the same account and atleast play on LAN and oh HL2 SP;)

So are you saying it's possible for me to install Counter Strike source onto another pc, and me and my nephew can play around on LAN?

yes. I installed it on my roommate's computer in an attempt to play the pseudo DM.

Ok, wait. So I can theoretically install my copy of HL2 on any number of pcs, and when I want to play it I log into steam using my account and it works (as long as I'm only playing on one pc at a time).

Is this right?

its right, but steam will be suspecious that ur logging into the same account on like 10 pcs, so i would suggest only 2 pcs this way
