Schwa?

I don't mind either types, but the problem with a lot of squad-based shooters is that your AI team mates are crap. :frown:

Sometimes, but I also love to go to battle with a lot of allied NPCs. That's something the HL series lack. A good battle with lots of allies.

Yes and Both. The problem with more than 1 person is stuff like pathfinding and lack of control. Like in Rome:TW you have to wait an hour for them to all turn around and eventually charge when they feel like it etc.

I think the idea of a one man army game is riduculous on the level of RAMBO, but it can be very fun if done right. I do like the idea of a one man assassination/burglary squad (I am thinking of the Thief series in particular). Of course, co-op and AI squadmates can be fun too, but it really depends on A. the type of game and B. the competence of the AI. All of this varies wildly from game to game.

No, not even one person thank you. The only game where this sidekick thing was somewhat tolerable was in HL2 EP1 & 2.
And don't get me started on team/squad type games. I stay away from them like the plague.

Edit

IT IS A GAME, anything goes.

I personaly don't like lone wolf type games where you ALWAYS have to sneak around, if the tactics are optional then I like it.

Yeah... squad games. If I'm somehow coerced into playing a squad type game, I'm the guy that the first thing he does is shoot his team mate to see if he can kill them...

Yeah. I usually make a point of pulling a mercenary in TDM matches, I score better on my own.

Oddly enough, I'm comparatively shit at free-for-all/deathmatch. I guess my teammates act as a buffer against the rest, that or it just makes it more predictable where the enemy is coming from and less of a twitch-based affair.

I prefer teambased in multiplayer, but one man army for single player.

I like playing with team mates by my side, but I don't want to be dependant on them. I mean, it's good if I get some team members for a mission/level/whatever, but it shouldn't really matter too much if they get themselves killed. That's how I like to play.

Anything other than the Thief series where you are by yourself gets docked a few points in my book.

Seriously, I want to play a game where you have to depend on your allies (in both cannon fodder and support), where you have none of the "One Spec Ops guy kills everybody in the fortress" type of gameplay. So far, Rainbow 6 was one that got it closest.

I play both, enjoy both. But enjoy one man army sp just a tad more then team based sp. MP is the opposite.
