I just saw this commercial. I love it for two reasons:

  • Orville was actually CG hence why he's so creepy looking.
  • He's holding a Zen Vision:M.
The ending is so creepy.

EDIT: I just realized that was first time I've used the bullet feature.

I'm ordering a new Vision:M 60 gig because my old 20 gig Touch filled up.

You'll love it. Plus, you get the added bonus of laughing at all the noobs that have iPods. And that will be a lot of laughing.

I get to do that already.

I have this brick
creative-zen-touch-20gb-kep-1-middle.jpg

When people ask what makes it better than an ipod, I take their ipod and sit it on a table. I then take the Zen and hold directly over the ipod from a height of 4 to 5 feet. Just as I'm about to let go, said ipod owner will snatch their pod up and begin to cry in a nearby corner.

You'll love it or
\o\ my name isn't
/o/ Orville
\o\ Redenbacher!

Vision M pwns.

"Hey Ipod fag... I can run video for 4 hours straight, enough for two movies. How long does your battery last??"

*ipod fag cries*

I get the opportunity to laugh at you for saying 'added bonus.' And that's a lot of laughing.

I've never heard of this "vision m" thing...

Hmmm might want to read up on it.

I have it. The thing is so freaking sweet. On my flight home (3.5 hours) from vacation I watched a 2 hour long movie, and listened to music for 2 and a half hours (got to airport an hour early). Then I brought it to class forgeting to charge it, and I was surprised to find it still had 50% power.

I was like w00t!

I thought there was going to be a video of Keith Harris and Orville :(

He's all robotic. Especially at the end when he does the thing with his shoulders.

So I was looking at the Vision M..

I want a W more...granted, more expensive, but damn I like the looks of it, and the bigger screen.

Anyway, yeah, that robot needs to burn in hell.

Yeah; the W is stunning. If it wasn't for the $499 price tag, I would get it.

Latest generation? 6.5 hours. Oops!

Jesus Christ, don't these iPod bashers realize they're being obnoxious sheeple, exactly what they're accusing the "iPod fags" of being? People with iPods are just dumb sheep following a trend? Aren't you following the recent trend of iPod bashing? iPods don't have bad sound quality, iPods don't have a short battery life, iPods are not outreageously more expensive than your precious Creative (note: Creative make great MP3 players, but so does Apple, fanboys for either are idiots).

I'm so fucking tired of iPod bashing, that and WoW bashing. Go die in a fire.

I'm tired of people following a bandwagon when the ZVM is better in almost everyway for the same amount of money.

I'm tired of people following a bandwagon when the ZVM is better in almost everyway for the same amount of money.

I'm tired of emo kids following the "iPod SUUUCCCKKS!!"-bandwagon when the difference, if any difference at all, is absolutely marginal. There's nothing wrong with an iPod and there's nothing wrong with buying an iPod instead of a Creative or visa versa. Stop speaking in hyberboles.

I never said there was anything wrong with buying an iPod. I'm just saying you can get something better for the same price which is an opinion.

So opinion vs. opinion is a stalemate.

So more weird commercials, please.

Oh great, now we're going into the "I'm saying something non-sensical but I call it my opinion so it's immune to criticism". What an easy cop-out.

So there's nothing wrong with buying an iPod but at the same time you should be "laughing at all the noobs with an iPod"? Does not compute!

Calling it your "opinion" doesn't end a discussion with me, I'm afraid.

Latest generation wasnt out when the Vision M was released. You cant compare them really. But if you want to compare them, then the newest generation still doesnt have FM radio, or recording capabilities. It also doesn't support many video file-types, and thus most video needs converting.

However, a better comparison would be the new Vision W, which was released at the same time as the newest iPod. Right off the bat, the screen is massive (4.3-inch) and MUCH better for viewing video. It only has 4.5 hours of battery life, but it has a REMOVABLE BATTERY! So you can have two batteries charged and just swap them out. Not only that, but you dont need to send it to creative to have the battery or the entire player replaced when the battery dies. Plus, like the Vision M it still supports a bunch of formats, has a FM radio, recording ability etc.

And also, I never hear any iPod hate. Most people I know have iPods and swear by them. I have only encountered two people who use creative mp3 players in my life. So im not sick of iPod bashing... I am sick of fanboys telling me how much better the iPod is than any other mp3 player. Thats why I get so defensive of my player (because imo its better).

...um...

What was this thread about again?

And the video on the iPod video (and Zune) looks horrible compared to the ZVM.

/low blow.

The Vision W isn't a good comparison at all, it's a device in a very different pricerange with a very different purpose (a much more specialized videoplayer than both the iPod or the Vision M, more bulky too). The Vison M is the direct competition of iPod, the W isn't.

Saying that because the M is a lot older than the latest generation iPod and thus it can't be compared is a void argument. If it has better battery-life than the competition, old or not, then it has better battery life. You were the one comparing battery-life of iPod vs Creative, why should I resort to older models to compare to which aren't even being sold any more? Until Creative releases a new Vision M, the comparison remains valid.

And FM-radio? To me it's completely irrelevant, I couldn't think of a single moment I would rather listen to shitty, shitty radio than to my own music.

I thought this thread was supposed to be about popcorn.

The iPod user interface and click wheel is by far superior to the zen line's attempts

this is coming from someone who has used both quite a bit, the ipod is just so much more responsive and simple/natural to use

I agree.

Which is weird considering that Creative owns the patent to the circle wheel.

why should I resort to older models to compare to which aren't even being sold any more?
Because I didnt realize they released a new one :p. For the people who already own one of the later generations then my argument still holds true.

And FM-radio? To me it's completely irrelevant, I couldn't think of a single moment I would rather listen to shitty, shitty radio than to my own music.

Just because its irrelevant to you doesnt mean its the same for everyone else. How about those of us who like talk shows? Who like certain radio personalities, or who play different music than you have on your player? When you include the fact that you can record it at the same time opens up a lot of possibilities.

As for the interface and scroll pads... I dont really notice a difference. They both work equally well in my experience.

I have an iPod video that I don't play videos on. I'm probably the very definition of iPod fag, but I don't care :)
