When valve make the half life 2 expansion what other character would you like to see return. I would like the see Otis the Security guard return.

Ah, I only played OP4 once, but I might play through it again this weekend. From what I've heard we won't be seeing any characters from the original HL expansions.. They are property of Gearbox, not Valve.. Thats what I've been hearing..

Thinking about what characters I wanna see in the expantion pack just makes me sad. I hate waiting !!!

The mighty Gargantuan(forgot the spelling) should return and cause HAVOC!!!

ahhh otis, yes he was a nice relief to all the barney clones hangin around, wouldnt mind seeing him in a second opposing force, as thats where he was from.

personally, i would like to see the other two scientists that were at Black Mesa, along with klieiner and vance.

They were the g-man looking scientist (big black bags under eyes and really white) and also the albert einstein scientist.

Im making a mod currently that will heavily feature these two.

also, i would like to see Dr. Rosenberg return. he was probably the best character in all of the expansions, lots of dialogue.

if a real expansion was to be made, id love to see a barney expansion, like from where he has escaped from black mesa and makes his way to city 17 with vance and kliener.

I just wanna add some stuff to my last comment.

here are some pictures of the scientists from half life 1 including albert einstein model and the other guy, who i really think now looks amazingly like the g-man. hmmm possibly a new rumour in that one?

this is the g-man

it could possibly be that this scientist went forward in time with black mesa technology - saw everything that happened to the earth - augmented his time travel stuff - came back to black mesa current time to try to stop the invasion and change the course of the future.

well, like everything else, its just a rumour but could be possible

With all due respect to everybody who thinks that Adrian Shephard and Race X are the property of Gearbox, I'd have to speculate they you're (probably) wrong.

Gearbox was contracted and licensed by Valve (or, more likely, Sierra or Sierra's parent company at the time...Cendant, was it? I'm relatively sure this was before Vivendi bought them all out.) to create an expansion to HL. While I've never seen the actual contract, I'd suspect that Valve and it's then-parent company would NOT give away the rights to the contents of Blue Shift and OpFor.

The expansions were made at Valve's direction and under contract. They, almost certainly, had final say in regards to content CONTRACTUALLY. Gearbox, almost certainly, got one thing from this...money. ALOT of money, given the sales of Blue Shift and OpFor.

So, in all likelyhood, Valve owns the rights to the CONTENTS of Blue Shift and OpFor. That would mean they own Barney, Adrian, Race X, and all the rest. It's highly unlikely that they would give up their rights, contractually, to Gearbox.

NO, we must have Adrian, the drill seargent, and the fat security guard return.

I'd like to see Shepherd return... but not as a playable character if that means sacrificing the chance of something new.

Aside from that, the main problem with wanting characters to return is that... well, the original Half-Life universe had very few unique characters.

Half-Life: Dr. Gordon Freeman, the G-Man, "The Administrator" (unseen). Edit: I suppose Kliener counts as he was in the manual
Opposing Force: Adrian Shepherd.
Blue Shift: Barney Calhoun, Dr Rosenberg.
Decay: Dr. Gina Cross, Dr. Collette Green, Dr Keller.

So half the Half-Life original cast have already returned (italics). Logically, you could have a second science team in another location composed of Cross, Green, Keller and Rosenberg (the Decay team). Of course, beyond this you could invent personalities for the game's clone characters - The two remaining scis, Otis, the OP4 Marines and the drill sarge, but it's hardly an extensive list to choose from. I think Otis has the most chance of returning though - he may have been cloned a fair few times, but he actually had a personality unlike the Barneys (generic barney, not BS Barney Calhoun).

I wanna see the two woman from the ps2 version of halflife (forgive me if they died i didnt play it)

AND the two scientists at the end of Blue shift

I really would like to see Otis... as well as the old scientist guy. Remember the bald(ing) ones with grey hair and mustaches? Assuming they didn't all have heart attacks in the upcoming years :)

personally, i would like an expansion as maybe something that we havent seen yet. (or a opposing force 2)

working in tandem with characters like the albert einstein scientist, Dr rosenberg, Collette, and BARNEY wouldnt (to me) be more rewarding than playing as one of them. because they can talk, and do their own thing.

also, more laboratory areas! they are so cool.

I want "Half-Life 2: Deleted Scenes"
Including the hydra, biothingies, traptown, the left out guns, assasins, combine sniper women, the other vehicles and the incinerator guy.
I don't care if there isn't even a plot.
