Haha I'm pretty sure a fair few people on here are really into paintball, so basically I just tried it for the first time on an all day thing.

It was truely as epic as the bruses I've recieved.

I did pretty damn well, especially when I was patient and went prone in more open area games. I just wish someone had told me how much it f***ing hurts to get hit in the kidney :D.
 
yup its loads of fun.
i recommend you at least wear 2 shirts and mabye one of those longsleeves. so you wont get bruised as badly.
 
I love to play paintball but I never really got into it so much as to where I had bought my own equipment. Frankly I don't have enough time to play it that often but when I do it is amazing.
 
Bruises don't even bother me anymore. I've played nationals for about 3 years and I don't even feel it now. Yeah, paintball is amazing.

Paintball is awesome. I use an impulse...
YES- Paintball in kidney = ow. Don't turn around when you are getting hit (most poeple do after they get hit because its less painful in the back than the stomach)
 
I've always wanted to get into paintball, but just can't be arsed for it :(
 
I didn't turn around, I got hit whilst running from cover to cover because someone chucked a smoke grenade about a foot away from me xD.
 
Ohhhh sounds like your going to be pissing blood for a month! sucks to be you! muwhahaha

paint ball is kick arse, especily when you go with some people you dont really like and then TK them! muwhaha
 
I went on one of my earlier birthdays. Got shot in the back of the head, and had a massive bump there for ages.

Awesome game though.
 
i <3 me some paintbaling. i pretty much just limit it to going to the 3000+ player game at oklahoma d-day and fun games with people from work :) hehe
 
We tried paintball for a while and to make it interesting, no guns were allowed. Any assjack can buy a zillion-dollar rifle and nail people from across the sandbox, but with sling shots, the range is much shorter and you have to actually creep up on your shot. If you screw up, you probably can't reload before they get a shot back at you, so there's a lot of hunting/stalking skills that made it super fun. The area is actually a huge natural maze made of volcanic rock. So fun!
 
I played paintball once, was great fun, but I didn't get any bruises, it didn't even hurt much :? Maybe the organiser gave us some weak weapons or something...

I got headshotted by a teammate from 5 meters, cause he didn't see the armband I was lying on... ><

Don't need to.
I've worn a short-sleeve ever since I first went paintballing.
I am rather afraid of not wearing a cup though... I still have to buy one

Unfocused - Those guns were probably chronographed to regulation rules for the game.
I imagine most people have their gun set to max speed and not chronographed to the suppose to be 300 FPS or something like that

its depends on the person
 
I prefer airsoft. The weapons are infinitely more accurate (I use the iron sights to aim), they have a decent range, are replicas, an accurate ROF and operate like the real equivalent would except for the actual projectiles fired.
The game is a lot more tactical, realistic and interesting...and it hurts less.
 
Ever since I played CS beta 1, I've wanted to do that. Me and my dad played CS all the time, so we always talked about it, but never actually got the time/chance/energy to do it, and spend all that money. So we just dream these days.

That and he's old, and he'd probably break a hip.

lol "realistic" anything is realistic if its put into reality.
 
I've only played a few rounds over the course of a day 6+ years ago in some pretty thick woods.

One round I was behind some cover. I peek out just a little bit and *SNAP* A shot hits me square in the forehead just above my mask at my hairline. It just felt like somebody flicked my forehead with their fingernail but it looked crazy. Red paint streaked through my short buzzed hair in a big "V".

Another round I was the last person left in the round and I was almost surrounded. I got a few people but then I ran out of shots (it was a birthday party and the kid's dad only bought us so many rounds each). I held my gun above the wall sideways to show surrender before standing up because they were pelting my cover like crazy. They stopped. A guy that worked there blew the whistle for the round to end. I stood up and a kid in front of me 50 or so feet away (he was bragging about his "crazy-awesome" new gun earlier - I already disliked him) fired two quick rounds right towards my nuts. I spun to the side as I saw him do it and I actually saw the rounds coming at me. Both rounds hit an inch or less from my junk. The rounds didn't break, not sure why. Clearly it wasn't that good of a gun or else I wouldn't have had time to react since the paintball would've been flying a lot faster.

Needless to say I was pissed. He was laughing, thinking he was cool. He started saying something about how we shouldn't have messed with him blah blah blah, I wasn't listening. I stomp up to him through the leaves and branches, put my right foot behind his and just shove him over for being a prick. Apparently he and his father think this is "too violent" and try to get me kicked out of the little outdoor paintball arena...but we were done playing anyways so we just left while the dad was yelling at the owner.

Realistic to real weapons, he means.

Paintball is like the result of someone wanting to make a game that you could shoot eachother, but didn't want to make the guns look real and they wanted the pellets to be filled with paint so you could mark eachother. Which is totally not worth it. I've never encountered anyone who didn't abide by the honor system. You can tell if you hit someone anyway. So the only real reason it grew in popularity compared to airsoft is because it's less suggestive of shooting real weapons, which to kids and teens is a "who cares" issue. Go enjoy your mainstream status, paintball.
 
My friends and I used to play airsoft when we were in 8th grade. It was sort of cool, but nobody ever owned up to being shot except me and a few others. I had an M4A1 and still have it, although I haven't used it since then. We all pretty much grew out of it in about a year, after purchasing expensive guns, camo, and whatnot which sucks.
 
I haven't actually had the means to go for a long time. I've got all the gear...not sure how I'll transport it on my bike though. It would be nice to go to woodland...my only local option is CQB in central London. Carting all that stuff around on the Underground draws many looks of suspicion, I can tell you.
Be nice to meet some of you guys for a game one day when I can figure out how to carry it all.

Guh, so damn messy.

I like how you can play airsoft anywhere without worrying about paint getting on shit.

I also hate people who say "OMG PAINTBALL IS HARDCORE AND COOLER CUZ U GET HURT MOAR AIRSOFT IS FOR PUSIES!"

(Not implying anyone in this thread has acted like that, just putting that out there)

It was developed by the US military. So its hardly gay.
 
I'm not trying to insult paintball, I'm stating why I don't like it.
 
I don't see why people don't warn you about wearing cups more.

I got shot down there and it was honestly one of the most painful experiences of my life, i thought i'd have to go see a doctor to see if anything was...damaged.

Paintbulling is awsome though...gotta love it.

I do agree with the groin shots though. I once marshalled a South West League event in Bristol, and got shot twice in the groin by the same guy, 10 seconds-ish apart. Ran in to check a player, he nailed me. As i went around the otherside of the bunker, he got me again (sheer luck and accident), i dropped to one knee as i ran back to the sideline lol.
 
Bah my dad is 50 and he goes paintballing with me! age is not an excuse pitz. ill let u kno when i roll again. mwhaha /shifty eyes. i loves me shootin some peoples...
