Okay, slight problem. Since it involves money, I'm not sure what to do yet.
I recieved an e-mail from PayPal saying that I sent some money... the thing is, I don't use eBay or PayPal...

Be careful with Paypal. I had my credit card stolen while using it only about a month ago. I had to cancel it, and I'm still dealing with the credit card company trying to nullify all those orders.

"wha? I didnt order a dual pronged dildo! ok I did order this anal tickler but I sure as hell didnt order this gimp mask"

Yeah, that shit happens to me a lot. I got alot of those though, with my ebay account, when someone hijacked my account and got my card number and shit. yeah, bad times for me. but don't worry I get those emails daily, just ignore em...scams.

That's basically the gist of what that guy bought. Man, if I ever found out who it was...

Paypal is fine with me.
They havent been giving me problems

I recently got an email from "Paypal" claiming there was some "strange recent activity" on my account saying a transaction was blocked "for security reasons", and I was referred to a link to do something or other that led me to what appeared to be Paypal's homepage.

I opened a new tab and typed in Paypal's address and logged in. No problems. I looked again at the link I followed and indeed there was Paypal's homepage address, but it was preceded by an address I have never seen, nor did it look legit.

I think if I were to log in to the "fake" Paypal site my login information would have been stolen and my card/identity in peril.

You have to be careful, and observant.

Yeah, I've gotten fake emails that request account information for "re-verification" or similar bullshit. Bad thing is that a lot of them look pretty much identical to authentic Paypal emails.

It's funny when the phishing emails contain big warning about not giving out your username or password and even a security link to the paypal page about avoiding scammers.
