PC Block during Loading in the levels

i don't know why ui have this seriouse problem: when i play a in a level, during the loading the pc block and i must end to game half life 2
i have all steam updates, and i have the latest version of catalyst with an x800xtpe

are you sure it's freezing? loading just takes a while.

Are you waiting more than 2-3 minutes? Because that's how long it can take to load maps, especially if you have 512mb of RAM or less.

You didn't post your PC specs, as far as I can see.

On the other hand, maybe HL2 with it's crappy Source engine is just to blame.
