Thank god.
More choices. yay
It's silly for Creative to stick with PCI when everyone else is trying expand and move on.

And I guess the Asus card has "Audio Loopback Transformation" which is supposed to circumvent DRM copy protection without loss of sound quality.

I wonder if it's not too late to return this card tomorrow. X-Fi using traditional PCI does not work for many of us. Much of the time, the problems are sited as being due to problems related to the PCI interface.

Not sure but I would think so. Probably doesn't need any more bandwidth. I have an ATI tv tuner that is 1x.

OK. Only time will tell. I always hoped that someone will step up to the plate and make this PCe x1 slot very useful.

about time they start using those slots i never use. also it would allow better cooling to the video card.

I've been waiting for SCSI cards on the PCI-e bus to come down in price. The only other thing I've seen for the smaller ports are network interface cards, and I don't know of many motherboards that have this type of bus with no on-board network interface. Nice!

I don't even know if I have a spare PCI-E slot. D:

I guess I must have a load spare then. :p

All I have in a PCI-E slot is my X1900GT.
