PCZone Preview - Scans!

Hey, I recently recieved my PCZone copy of the preview for Half-Life 2, and I thought I might scan the nice preview for you guys. Here's the pages.

Not that it's not allowed, just sort of illegal. This is going to be locked and you might get a temporary ban.
 
I don't think it's legal at all to post an entire article on a website.
 
I don't get it, I just went over the rules, and there isn't anything against this...Copyrighted material? I own the copy of magazine, as well as the prints of the pictures. I honostley don't see how this is wrong, but sorry. I was just wanting to be generous, but suppose it got me in trouble.
 
I don't think they should ban him. Just pass his IP to PC Gamer and let the legal team send him a love letter.
 
Yeah but the rest of us don't own a copy of the magazine you dolt.
 
But it can't be posted... I don't think he deserves a temporary ban, he just didn't know.

Even though ignorance isn't an excuse, its not a huge huge crime and its easily fixed
 
Wtf? It's the first time I've done anything here. I didn't know, I read the rules but wouldn't know it is that illegal. It's not the whole magazine....I'm just showing the preview, as I am pretty sure most of you won't recieve it.

I think you should be penalized for your low IQ. Not know it's illegal? You've got a computer probably filled with .mp3's which you know are illegal because of copywrite infringement. Where have you been under a rock?

It's a nice gesture... just kind of a red flag around here. No big deal... I wouldn't worry too much about it.
 
Actually, I don't download music. I have in the past, I'll admit it, but not anymore. Tho I don't see how this goes into play. I'll be leaving now.
 
You guys coulda been nicer to the dude. He was just trying to help out. Leave him alone, you guys are always so quick to jump on people.
 
I agree with mayro. It was an honest mistake. He was just trying to share a cool article with us all.

So give him a break.

mp3's have nothing with this, and you're just being mean. :sleep:
 
To explain, the copyright in the magazine says that you cannot produce an unauthorized copy of the magazine in any other medium, including the internet. That's why it's against the law.
 
Still, naxet, it's perfectly fine to summarize the info in article, or describe things in the screens.
It's only the straightforward reproduction that's not allowed.
I probably would have done the same thing, had I not known of the procedure here.

Is any content in that mag different than what's been shown already?

Yea, shows ALOT. It tells why Half-Life 2 was delayed and all.

this is how america works... its a sad sight... you try to give someone somethin then outhers slap you in the face... i say if you buy it you own it... you just cant reproduce it and sell it... this nation needs a serious make over

Not to mention the numerous hype jumps and the times when we thought we were so close but then it all came crashing down... ahh... oh well

most peeps are still ticked off about hl2 being delayed... duke nukem forever "working title" and the non exsistant mutant tf2.... i still havent been able to find that magazine here in ohio - wish i had got to the page quick enough to get the web link lol:: i understand the mods tagging and removeing such stuff though, dont need any legal battles with huge corperations off us internet guys wanting to look at something lol.
