Umm, Angry Lawyer... I think it's obviously clear to everyone that he can't actually be banned from making movies... especially with a few hundred signatures. However, the petition is an easy way for game fans to express their displeasure with him, and hopefully the people who make the decisions will realize he sucks and replace him with someone else. I think it's safe to say that anyone whose a video game fan does not want someone with Uwe's current track record to direct the movie of their favorite game...

Well, in my opinion, your distaste for Uwe Boll is similar for my distaste for terrible mod ideas (OMG lets maek a mod were CounterTerrorists get teleported into da HL2 gaem!) but if they enjoy it, as long as they're not violating copyright laws, then I've got nothing against them trying to make it.

Imagine this. You get a job at a local graphic design studio, where you love your job. You get to lay down your ideas for art, and see them get made, and get paid. You get along fabulously with your boss, and your colleagues, and you never knew why you didn't get into graphic design before.

Then people start sending you hate mail because they didn't like the box art you made for Cornflakes. All the Cornflakes lovers start making polls, and sending threatening mail stating that "If you ever draw for another Kellogs product, I'll kill you in your sleep". Your boss gets mail saying "Fire him, he's talentless".

Think how Uwe feels. He does something he loves, but he's not very good at it.

Or at least have his script reviewed by one. Everyone knows they'd love a game movie, just make sure it's done well enough. (DooM is a good example of this, it's not smashing, but it's not horrible either.)

That's a pretty good explanation..but there is something your missing: Uwe Boll WANTS his movies to fail..that's how he gets money. The German producers want his movies to do extremely bad. So he is good at it, good at making failing movies. Just think for a minute..why the hell make a bloodrayne movie, why?? Not many people played the game, and the game didn't sell well at all. Why make a dungeon siege movie?? (his next so called masterpiece). He's just exploiting games and making horrible movies out of them, to make a profit...he's also fighting for the right to make a metal gear solid movie, and if he gets the rights, A lot of people (especially Konami), are going to be absolutly furious. He does something he loves, making horrible movies, and he is very good at it.
