The Valve team is probably on vacation right now, I wouldn't expect much from them.

Actually, Gamespot is doing a full length feature article on the 6 year development of HL2, including Gabe's admittance about what happened last Sept 30, his view on the source code being stolen, and the like. Check it at the bottom of http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/10/18/news_6110764.html.

In that article there'll probably be a pic of the broken pinata, just like in their last one about HL1.

We'll see it when Gamespot do their "last minutes" feature on Half Life 2. They said recently that they will be doing one, and that it'll be out before the game comes out.

So failing new media/new reviews, I think this is all we really have to look fowards to until the big day arrives.
