I am experiancing "pop-up" on my new system which i did not notice before on my old system.

It happens to models and some objects, like a table with drawers, the drawers will only appear when i reach a certian distance, and models constantly change as i apporch them..

I've recorded this to show exactly what i am tryin to explain...note the table on the left and the body to the right of the table.

Is this Nvidia specific? I never had this on my Rad 9600pro,

That's something to do with the reflections, I think. The white trims on the Combine's sleeves are reflective, but only appear so from a certain range.

You haven't told us what your new card is, but are we to assume it's fully DX9 compliant? (Some of the earlier GeForce FX models were not - and this reflectiveness is a fetaure of DX9, I think).

It's certainly not what I thought it was, and I can't see what you mean about the table?

oh yeah shit my system is

Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.2
GF 6600GT
1 gb Ram
A8n Sli

If you look really close at the table you will see the drawers underneat appear and disapear as i walk back and forth, maybe i set the divx codec quality too low, but i wanted to keep a small file as people would download it.

It's not only reflective materials which appear, arms and legs get bigger, or smaller, as if it is constantly changing the detail on them, making them less blocky as i move closer

Very strange. Try upping all your detail settings to their maximum (with the exception of Anti Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering) and see if this makes a difference. Come to think of it, isn't it the Anisotropic filtering that prevents pop-up - I can't remember.

I get pop-up on my 9600XT, but it's rarely as noticable as the incident you've described (more likely to be scenery on outdoor levels)

heh im sure his AA and AF couold go to max with that computer :P I know someone with the same setup and a radeon 9000 and he runs everything highest...
