I've made a lot of bad decisions in my life, but going into this town was one of the worst.

I wouldn't mind if night was like that all the time...lighting the way with flares can be a novelty though, creates a really creepy atmosphere, especially when you see other flares off in the distance.

With Arma 3's lighting, pitch black nights would be awesome with flares or flashlights.

Yeah I almost did, but thankfully that table was blocking them somehow.

Now for something completely different to break the monotony of ArmA2 screens.

I really should get around to actually beating NWN2 one of these days.

On another note, people still play NOLF multiplayer?

Got a new monitor, so here's some 1900x1080 res shots of Fallout NV and Metro 2033.

WarZ looks ****ing incredible, I'm going to have to bite down when I get funds sorted. Too many games I want! Awesome screenies all around.

Spent 5.5 bloody hours playing the second scenario in the Grand Campaign for Children of the Nile before I beat it. Love this game, can't believe this is the team that went on to make the turd that is SimCity Societies.

Do you mean DayZ?

And the screenshots don't even show what the most fun part of the game is. It's not even about zombies, really. The zombies were like a way to draw people in to realize what truly is great about playing Arma.

It's really a level above any other competitive FPS.

You don't know when or where you're going to encounter enemies, how many there will be, or how well they'll be armed. On top of that, every single person in the game has spent hours getting where they are and finding gear. One of the guys we killed had been playing for a week without dying. This makes everyone care about their own lives, and makes the kill that much more rewarding.

Edit: Short clip from tonight

Sweet cocksucking jesus an M14, and I was excited when I found an AK. You really have to scrounge to find decent equipment, which makes it all the sweeter when you do, and all the more bitter when you lose it. And I do mean when, not if.

Hmm, that mod looks neat. Would playing this alone make any sense? I considered buying ARMA II since I got a new PC in December, but I've had other games to play (and friends playing them too) and I don't have anyone to play ARMA II with. I know that some of you guys play together, but since you're all US-based, timezones would be a problem.

But this looks like something you could get a kick out of while playing lone-wolf.

What about playing ARMA II with random people? I've had some good teamwork playing with random people in BF2's Project Reality mod - I'd assume ARMA II would attract a similar (more mature than the average gamer) crowd.

EDIT: **** pondering, I bought it. Along with Company of Heroes Complete Pack BTW - that's for 5€ if anyone's interested.

A lot of the hl2.net ARMA crowd isn't US based, actually.

Well, really our only non-US players are NZ, which happen to mesh decently with the US timezone for the time of day (night) we play at. For Europe, not so well. Just ask Dinnesch.

Did you buy Combined Operations? And I guess you bought it on Steam. Which makes running the beta a real pain the in ass. (Or at least it was a pain figuring out how to do it, but it's still messy)

I've played plenty of this series on my own, but it really depends on the person. The mission editor makes it quite easy to make fun stuff to mess around in.

DayZ would be fun on your own, too. I know Morgs couldn't resist playing on his own when the americans were sleeping.

Yeah, great game when you get the hang of it. Except it becomes repetitive when you find a decent layout, a bit like Caesar/Pharoah/Zeus/Emperor.

I want a new city-builder but they all suck.

Gorgeous, can't wait to get a new PC -- though it looked and played fantastic on my Q6600 and AMD 5850 anyways.

Indeed, it is a gorgeous game. Runs far better than GTA IV did too. I myself am running the game at all settings maxed except for MSAA which I have off because I want vsync on non-stop without occasional dips to 30. That and MSAA gave me some weird bugs with HDAO.

You can hardly even tell whats going on in most of those screenshots. Way too ****ing busy.

Actually took this a few days ago when I started, I'm going to take more next time I play. Right now I JUST got to Pripyat, so I think I'm far? Never beat it so who knows.

Also next time I won't use the ingame screenshot feature, it looks like shit.

Kinda like Deus Ex, mention it once and SOMEONE will reinstall.

Thought it was pretty obvious tbh. Max shooting people in the face. What more do you need from a Max Payne 3 screenshot?

Well apparently, ridiculous filters, light bloom, and particle effects out the butt. And jumping through a lot of windows.

Besides the filters and bloom though it looks okay.

IMO the game looks better and more "clear" in motion - I also thought the screens looked really busy and overly processed, whereas I had no such thoughts while playing the game.
