Pre-ordering and CD/DVD

I was just thinking. For those of us that have already pre-ordered, have we now sacrificed our privelige of choosing whether we want the DVD or CD edition of Half-life 2? I ask this because I ordered from Amazon and they only have one entry for Half-life 2.

Anyone ever pre-ordered something where there are multiple versions before? What were your experiences if so?

On release date there will only be one version on CD. You will have to wait a few months after that date for any other version.

Yeah, think it's likely to be two CD's? or a super (oversized) CD?

no Gabe confirmed there will be a Cd edition of a few CDs and definitely a DVD edition. I'm not asking about that read the post Sniper :/

I think it will be closer to 4-5, Splinter cell and Mafia were 3 cds...

when i went to pre-order HL2 at the local Compucentre and asked about special/collectors edition, the sales guy said "if u pre-order HL2, u get to choose which one u want"


so really, whether theres a special/collectors edition or not, im happy either way


i will however purchase it as soon as its released :cheese: :dork:

yes didnt they say that it was 3 or 4 minimal?
