Predictions on HL2 release date

When do you guys think its gonna come out? Personally i would REALLY REALLY like to think its gonna come out June... but i dont think its going to come out till September

well if its true that they only have to tweek parts of the game like how many enemies and health packs and such, then I would guess maybe 1 or 2 months for that.. so i'd guess maybe july..

I don't blame u. I wish it was June too, but I voted September.
I'm just taking into account things like advertising, magazine reviews, official site launch etc...

If you go by what is being written in the new mags, than it can't be TOO far off. I'm guessing July....but I'll say between July and Sept barring any "things" which come up/playtesting/bugs/quirks and everything else...and there always seems to be SOMETHING.....so Aug-Sept may be the most realistic right now. Time will tell

Im not sure If anyone has noticed this,But if you check the number of games being released in July,According to the PCZone "incoming" section only Ground Control 2(A RTS) Warlords Battlecry III(Another RTS) and Spider Man The Movie 2 (A cheap licence cash in) are going to be out in July.I know there are other however PCZ only put these down as those which mattered.

My conlusion is that if Valve were to release HL2 in July they would have market dominance(Also it shows that other Publishers might have been given a heads-up to not try and contend with HL2).This is compared to the 8 June releases(Including Theif 3,Joint Operations and Soldiers:Heroes of WWII) and 19 releases set for Q3 (Which include some very big HL2 contenders,MOHacific Assault,COD:United Offensive and Stalker)
It makes EXTREME economic sense to release it in July as before that there are contenders and any time after July they are faceing alot of competition not only that in the FPS genre.

September, and that's at the earliest. Remember, they are targeting summer for completion, not necessarily release just the actual finishing of the game. And even that hasn't been set in stone, they may not complete it by then. So I'm gonna say September, but I wouldn't be suprised if it hit even a month or two after that. Of course, I'd love to be wrong on this
