Well, we just switched ISP's from AOL to TalkTalk. They sent me a modem and the usual crap cd and etc. Problem is, when i enter all the details into my routers confing i can't connect to the net, i can only connect via the modem theny sent me, meaning only 1 of our computers can access the net. This being useless as i want my PC and the xbox on the net too.

Just wondering if anyone got any ideas to what i can do, like should i link the modem to the router, or just sack it all off and go to another ISP. Also wondering about the SYNC light on my Router, before all this it used to be on constantly, but now it flashes or is completley off

Wondering if there is any way you can connect a modem to a router to help ?

Thanks in advance ...

Internet connection (cable/DSL line) -> Modem -> Router -> PCs

Basically, plug your cable/DSL line into your modem, connect the modem to the router with an ethernet cord (make sure to plug it into the WAN port on your router, otherwise it won't work), then connect your PCs to the router with ethernet cords and/or through a wireless connection.

[edit] Your modem should have an ethernet port on it (I don't think there are any that don't have one, but just in case...). If it doesn't, phone your ISP and tell them you need a modem that'll connect to a router.

there is no WAN port on my router, just 4 LAN ones and an ADSL one

What router did you buy, and what kind of connection do you have?

What kind of Router is it, because I may be able to give you a step by step.

Plus, what does you cable look like?
