Problems losing random items in Hammer

Anyone had the problem in the Hammer editor where one minute your maps all working ok, then the next minute loads of your entities and solids have disappeared, then you have to create them again?

I've had this happen a few times now and its getting on my nerves!

It seems to be mainly door entities, I recreated an iron gate with the same name and i noticed the name appears as bold as there are multiple entities with the same name. I then did a find entities and it showed me two objects, the old gate and the new one. When I try to select the old gate it just dissapears. The o,d gate does not appear in the game either.

Did you accidentally uncheck the VisGroup in which the other door was found?

doh, never used that bit before. Problem fixed!
