What you are doing is "sharing" the key between the dedicated server and your game. In order to run the server, you will need a separate key (IE pay for a separate license).

What is happening is that you start the server and it gets a "Ticket". Then you start the game and you get a new "ticket" at some point, the "tickets" are checked and the most recent ticket is kept and the oldest is expired.

You DO NOT NEED TO PAY to run a dedicated server.

The dedicated servers come FREE with any Steam account.

NO PURCHASE OR CD-KEY REQUIRED.

He was getting an error?

Post the error here.

The program is free but if you want to play at the same time that the server is running, you will need a different Key.
