Question for those with the game

Quick question for those with the game, as I have not purchased it considering my computer cannot handle it at the moment.

In the early Bink videos, the hitting effect of the crowbar when it hit a zombie or any other alien would display that annoying giant green splat on the screen, which I always hated from Half Life since it looked so cheesy. Is this still in Half Life 2 or has it been changed?
