What a day for this to happen:

My drivers have gone screwy on my 9600xt. So screwy that nobody i ask can seem to fix them. Now I need to reformat, something which for obvious halflife2 related reasons, must get done quickly (not forgetting my coursework essay i NEED to write tonight).

Anyway, I have a spare HD which i'm backing some stuff up on. How do I backup my steam info as I've got HL2 preloaded?

I'm really sorry, i know there's been lots of talk about this but i've not got the time to search.

PLEASE HELP ME IN MY HL2 HOUR OF NEED. TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO BACKUP. THANKS

Just copy all the gcf files from your steam/username folder

If you right click on Half-Life 2 there is a backup feature in Steam now. You can do this for any Steam game.

edit: Correction, right click on CS: Source or another game. Then you can select HL2 to back up.
