Race dog to White forest base?

I know this achievement was cool but, i want to know how many tries it took for you to beat dog in the race to the base?

I thougth the race was scripted the first time I did it, it was pretty damn easy. A single turbo-sprint leaves Dog a good stretch behind ya.

Three. First time I drove shittily and ran into things, second time I stopped at the bit with the fences because I thought that was the base, third time it was easy.

I went down the Stream also, I still managed to reverse and catch up to him. Running him over caused me to fly straight to the white forest base so i won.

Also, I never figured out how to stop without getting hurt on the fences (and still win).

Just two, the first time I think I got ahead of Dog, then I hit like a tree. I pulled back, but Dog hit my car and sent me spinning off to the side.

Second time, I was a bit more sure of where I was going and a bit more aware, so I owned him no problem.

The first time I was reluctant to use the turbo, because HL2's Buggy had taught me that turbo = crash and burn.

The secret is, keep calm, don't tense up, hit the turbo on the straightaways only, not the curves and corners, it's an easy win.
