Re-Selling Half Life 2 - Not Possible ?

Greetings,

I just beat my copy of Half Life 2, just curious. Would i be able to re-sell the game ? or am i totally screwed , since its registered under my Steam Account ?

I was thinking of selling via Ebay , and providing the winner with my Steam Account Login/Password ...

Any suggestions/Feedback ?

To be honest i would wait a while, once we get the so called "Surprise" and the full SDK comes out (very very soon), then there will be tons more to do!
Personally i can't wait, and i never thought people would be thinking about selling the game because IMO, it's the best game ever :dozey:

I dont think its possible to selll it if you already activated it anyways..

You'd have to sell your Steam Account, I'm not sure if that's allowed by the EULA.

You can sell it... but not legally.

You have to sell it and give your account number and password to the buyer, it's against the EULA to sell or transfer an account, but they won't be able to prove it. The buyer can change the password and he will be the only one with acces to that account. But one thing, don't do it on Ebay!!!! that would be one of the ways Valve could know if you sold your account.

I'm selling my retail copy to a mate. (i have a steam account with the steam-silver on but it got hacked - i can still get it back tho so dont worry).

So i bought retail so i cud play the game, registered to the account : "playhalflife2" and am giving my mate the box/disk/password.

That has to be perfectly legal

Is not really, but they won't be able to prove otherwise, they can't prove who created the account in the first place, and even if they did, they can't prove who is actually playing the game.

why would u wanna sell it?
there are 300+ mods listed for this game... theres bound to be a few good mods coming out of all that..

anyway...whatever good luck in selling ur copy.

i never sell any of my games. i even have my old games from like 10 years ago (remember Phantasmagoria and Gabriel Knight). i know that one day i will get an itch to play these and i want to make sure i have them.
