Reason help.

When I create a new instrument, having created a previous instrument and put a few notes in a note lan, and then access the piano roll on the new instrument i just created, the sound doesn't work for the new instrument!

How can I fix this?

You're probably trying to start a project without the 'default mastering suite' thing.

I'm not sure how to create it from scratch though, sooo do this:

Edit > Preferences and in the window that pops up, make sure that Default Song is set to 'built in'.

Then whenever you click File > New it should have the mastering suite thing by default.

If that's not the problem then iunno, make sure nothings muted, etc...

It seems like you aren't using a mixer, and when you make your first instrument it goes right into the master audio jacks.

You need to create a mixer first, then you can create your redrum/subtractor/etc. which will be auto-routed into the mixer.

Read the basic tutorial in the manual, dude. Also, press Tab when you're in the program and have a look, things will make more sense.

Reason works like a real studio would in regards to audio wiring. You can't just have a bunch of instruments not hooked up to anything like you could in Fruity Loops or something.

Ahahah. Man, tab is like half the fun to a Reason n00b. It never got old. Well, I mean, after a week it did. But still. Never did.

Actually though, I've not really done much with it as a more advanced user. There's LOTS of potential for neat automation and shit, some day I'll take a shot at patching something neat.

Yeah I had the default new document (File>New) not hooked up to anything. Reason is very different to FL in these matters.

To be honest I like to play around with the program first and then read the manual. I was beginning to learn Reason by reading the manual but I found that it induced me into a deep sleep, in other words, it isn't as fun.

I will get around to reading the manual, though.
