Reasons to be a pc gamer in 2008, moved and updated

updated with new games that were recently announced ..but for some strange reason he still has Star trek online (cancelled) and Dragon Age which wont come out till 2009 at the earliest (according to bioware) ..also Funcoms A Secret World probably wont be out till 2010

I doubt I'll have a 08'-09' games ready PC anytime soon. :(

That said, I won't really have time to game soon anyways.

I'm counting on you guys to fill me in on the latest when I'm not so busy one day. If HL2.net is still here that is.
 
I want DemiGod, but am put off by the multiplayer aspect. I tend to prefer good single-player to good multiplayer.

Everything else looks awesome though. Lots of UE3 and Source engine games coming too, which is ace.

From the looks of it, if you have a PC that was built within the last decade, you should be able to play 90% of those games.

I only have a pair of SLI'ed 256MB GeForce7600 GS's and an AMD single core +3800 2.4GHz though.

You really think that stuff is enough for high-quality and 1280x1024 res? I hate butchering quality for performance, especially when I know the game can look better.

I'm an all-or-nothing gamer tbh. :p I just can't play games I know should look better.
 
The only one that stands out for me (appart from Age of Conan :cheese: ) is Totems. I loved Outcast, and the concept of a Parkour based game from those guys sounds intriguing.

Though I hadn't heard that Unknown Worlds gave a release date yet, even a general one. I wouldn't be surprised if it's 2009 instead.

Did you look at the list? Most of them look like they should have come out 6 or 7 years ago when it comes to their graphics.

TBH no. :) But I won't be playing shit like Crysis or BioShock anytime soon. Many people say I'm not missing out on anything with those titles anyways.

This stuff my PC can handle though. (I looked this time) :thumbs:

Spore has always looked interesting to me though. I'm ready for something new. I'm to the point now where every FPS I try I can't help to shake the feeling of, "been there, done that" :p

The thread there seems a bit retarded in some places..

"City Life turned out be a very good(7.8 from GS) city-builder", since when does a score of below 8 make a game VERY GOOD?:p

It also has incorrect listings, such as Infinity: The Quest for Earth..

The Infinite team are hoping to have an EARLY ALPHA out this year for testing, not a complete game..

Looking forward to Kanes Wrath, Tiberium, Red Alert 3 and Duke Nukem forever. Not really much else I'm interested in tbh but I'm sure I'll change my mind about that when the games come nearer to release.

Bugger, I totally missed that...

I remember thinking it when I came across Spore as one of the ones I'd probably get this year, but then somehow it slipped my mind. Probably because there was a surprising lack of description on it.

Fixed.

Demigod, Iron-grip seems interesting, Dragonball online O_O, STALKER clear sky, Far Cry 2, Global Agenda, Alan Wake, Mirror's Edge looks nice, L4D, Postal 3 maybe.
 
He needs to update some of the eneteries. Heavy Rain is ps3 exclusive.
 
I found invisible war to be a more involving game than Deus Ex1. I couldn't finish the first (got bored so easily) but managed to finish the second, and even wanted more.
