So, We've got two DS's. (Me and my brother)

We have: Nintendogs, Justice League Heroes (AVOID!AVOID!AVOID!), Brain Training, and Advance Wars: Dual Strike (Worth everything we paid for it).

I walked into a store today and realised I didn't really know what to buy, because it was sort of like a mirror of various movies that had been released recently. (Spiderman, Various Marvel thingymagigs) and things I wasn't sure of quality wise (Harvest Moon DS, Secret of Mana)

Anyone got any hot picks for the DS? No guys coming here and going "DS sux, buy a PSP" thanks, I've only got enough for 2 games and then I'm saving for a Wii. On a related note, no guys coming in and going "Wii Sux, buy an XBox360/PS3/Stick with your PC" because I am sticking with my PC, I'm not buying Sony for a while and XBox360 makes me scared.

RPGs preferred, but any quality DS titles will do.

I'll just stick with the four I have:

Mario 64 DS, New Super Mario Bros., MarioKart DS and Metroid Hunters.

All excellent. I'l have to expand my library though.

Wario Ware is awesome. You may not like the game but you could play the GBA version to see if you like the concept which is awesome too.
Utilizes the touchscreen heavily which is something most good games (MarioKart, Mario 64, New Super Mario Bros.) have not done. Although, you should get New Super Mario Bros. because it's really great and you can play minigames with your brother with only one cartridge, which all use the touchscreen (except if you want to play duel mode like in Mario All-Stars!), lots of fun times to be had.

Also, I've been meaning to get Electroplankton. If you're into electronic/ambient music at all or like to be creative.

I'd add "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney" and "Trauma Center" to that list. "Clubhouse games" is okay if you're into card and board games. Star Fox DS was pretty cool although the MP wasn't very good. I'm waiting patiently for Panzer Tactics, but I'm not sure when that's coming.

If you loved Advance Wars DS, you should look into Age of Empires for the DS. It's suprisingly good and is almost a perfect turn based translation to the original RTS game.

Dual Strike is awesome, but I'm stuck on... lvl 23. Bah, stupid clone Drake + Jugger!

I'm gonna have to bug my parents to get... well, let's see. Mario Kart DS has downloadable play, right?

Hmm. Looks like: Elecktroplankton, Phoneix Wright, Warioware, Mario 64 DS. (I'm still not sure how the kart racing worked out on DS... I'll have to look into that). Oh! And Elite Beat Agents. Or Oendan. Whatever's easier.

There's got to be more RPGs for DS though. :(

Mario Kart does not use the touchscreen to drive or do any function besides change the map view. I don't know if that's what you were referring to but other than that, it's great. Online play is fun too.

Mario Kart and New Super Mario Bros. are a must :)

Have a look for some games you can play multiplayer - Band Bros. is good with a friend. The new Catlevania looks great too.

I cannot stress Mario Kart enough. It is honestly the only game I am still playing a year and 26 days after it came out. I play it online when I'm lying in bed, I play it on the bus, I play it on rainy breaks at school, I play it with my sister on long journeys or when she wants a go on the N64/Gamecube/Wii but I don't want her in my room. It's fantastic.

New Super Mario Bros. is the best platformer on the system although I haven't played Yoshi's Island DS yet. I completed it in about 3 weeks of solid playing, but boy was it good. I tracked down every hidden coin just to get a special touch screen background that did nothing but I felt so proud and it gave me an excuse to play through all the levels several times.

Metroid has superb multiplayer and is, worryingly, the only good shooter on the system at the moment. The single player is relatively "meh" but the range of options in both Single-Cart, Multi-Cart and Online Multiplay is amazing. 7 characters, 9 weapons, 22 arenas, it's better than the MP on some full grown console games.

METEOS IS BETTER THAN TETRIS!!!! It's that good. What more can I say? I absolutely love it. As does my best mate so it's CONSTANT WAR!!!
Sorry, I get pretty excited about Meteos. :E

Mario Kart DS all the way. That's by far the best game for the DS. If you want another game buy New Super Mario Bros. Don't buy Mario 64 DS unless you like Mario 64 for the N64.

I wasn't fond of Mario Kart DS for multiplayer, because people have this weird swervy tactic that makes them 2x's faster than you unless you exploit that idea too.

Unless you're too young, who the hell doesn't love Mario 64?

I'm young, and I've never played it.

My eternal regret... *teardrop*

I wonder if Super Smash Brothers or something like it would work on the DS. Man, SSB on the DS... *gargle*

Then you probably never beat the game, did you? I know I couldn't have done it without the drifting "swervy tactic" you talk about. Try putting a piece of cloth between your left thumb and the D-pad the next time you try to exploit this technique. It makes it easier to repeatedly press left and right when you are handling a curve.

Dawn of Sorrow is all you need.

NSMB and Advance Wars are great too, though. And WarioWare is fun while it lasts, which is about three hours.

I thought Wario Ware Touched was very, very short-lived compared to the other games in the series. Go for Twisted or the original game for some proper Wario action.
