It's alot more popular than UT2004.

It is? Last time I played it there were a lot less servers than there were in its good days, it made me sad. Maybe ET:QW has generated some interest in it.

Command & Conquer, any of the series is great online. Red Alert 2 especially.

WarCraft 3 / The Frozen Throne (not sure how popular Reign of Chaos is, but TFT has a huge audience with lots of user made content)

America's Army last I played had a lot of people, it's complete free as well.

edit: Come to think of it, StarCraft wouldn't be a bad choice either, pretty sure it's still popular. I noticed they didn't have any Blizz games on that list, guess they don't count b.net stats.
