reformating hard drive need help!

i need to reinstall windows and i want to do it on a fresh hard drive (i backed up all my files) so how do i reformat? windows is a b1tch i cant find out how to do it.

stick the windows XP disk into the drive, restart your computer, and follow the instructions

no i put the cd in and restart and it goes into set up, but i wont let me reformat it says the disk is in use!

You have to let it set up, and it will automatically reformat the drive.

If worst comes to worst, get a new one.

nah i fixed it i had to put the cd-rom as the first boot in my bios.
