Remedies for the common cold.

So I'm beginning to sneeze like crazy and my nose is all runny.

I've drank about three large glasses of water in the past 20 minutes and have eaten a banana.

Any suggestions to hinder the development of this sickness?

Paracetamol and stuff like lemsip just slow the process down and DO relieve you for a while, but ultimately you cant be 'cured'. Its a natural process that goes with time unfortunately.

But yeah, Lemsip first. Once the effects come back in force, paracetamol before bed.

It is considered safe for human use at recommended doses, however, acute overdose can cause fatal liver damage, and the number of accidental self-poisonings and suicides has grown in recent years.

Don't go crazy with the paracetamol, because it will cause liver damage if you take it for a long time (a month or so)

Just posting this in case for some reason you have to take it for a really long time. Also:

Paracetamol is extremely toxic to cats, and should not be given to them under any circumstances. Cats lack the necessary glucuronyl transferase enzymes to safely break paracetamol down and tiny fractions of a normal tablet for humans may prove fatal.[49] Initial symptoms include vomiting, salivation and discolouration of the tongue and gums. After around two days liver damage is evident, typically giving rise to jaundice. Unlike an overdose in humans it is rarely liver damage which is the cause of death, instead methaemoglobin formation and the production of Heinz bodies in red blood cells inhibit oxygen transport by the blood, causing asphyxiation. Effective treatment is occasionally possible for small doses, but must be extremely rapid.

2 pints of Orange Juice - Vitamin C
2 double Espressos - Caffeine
Boost bar - Glucose
Lemsip - Paracetamol
Neurofen - Ibuprofen

Take all those in one go then drink loads of water and eat well for the rest of the day and it'll be gone before tomorrow. I've never had a cold longer than about 2 days thanks to that "cure".
