Now, I have heard that RE4 should be a really cool game, but why? I mean, from the videos I have seen it looks pretty cool, but there must be something more since it scored 9,6 and 9,3 by GameSpot.

So now, it would be really cool if someone could list a lot of the cool things about RE4! Since I am properly soon getting a ps2 and I might pick up RE4.
:-)

What I wanted to ask about RE 4 is, will I like it? I've only played 10 minutes of Code Veronica and found the controls to be frustrating. Whats this like? Is it the same gameplay dynamics?

Resident Evil 4 is much more action packed, better camera system (3'rd person view, so no more stationary camera), you can aim however you want (like in a first person shooter, so no more up-middle-down) and in my opinion much better controls. Much more freely, and it doesn't feel like you steer a battle tank anymore. :)

Oh, and it's not a horror game really like the previous games. More like an action adventure game packed with really amazing and unique boss fights imo.

Yeah, it's a game you must have in your collection in other words. :)

Cheers Loke, will be picking this up - just checked some vids and it looks impressive.

awesome game, goood length too, not scary like silent hill but a wonderful action adventure, some of the enemies are fantastic, regenarators anyone?

Fantastic game with great gameplay. Though it can get abit samey at times, and its not very scary - and like previous titles the story (even more so, actually) is incredibly lame. Along with characters and dialouge.

It's nothing like the previous games in the series. It's less scares and more action.

The best game i've played in the last two years - maybe more :)

I've spent more energy raving about RE4 than I have PLAYING most games. That's how good it is. Now go and freaking buy it.

Well, altrough almost everyone wrote "just buy it" and "awesome gameplay" I would like to know, why should I buy it, and what elements in the game makes it so cool, for an example, what can you do to your enemies that is so cool?

BTW, I am buying it, but I just want to know the cool things!

You can shoot someones leg and run and kick him on the face
You can shoot a TNT in someones hand, blow him and the the guys with him
There alot of weapons in the game
The game good good length

IMO its the best game this year

Headshots, leg shots, arm shots, they all count how they should... sniping with a laser-sighted pistol... fighting 'zombies'... looking up the president's daughter's skirt... there's so many things that make this game fun, but what makes it awesome?

I'd say the control system. Even moreso than an FPS, it feels like you are in full control of your character, from how he moves down to how he shoots. It really is the closest thing next to a Lightgun to actually picking up a pistol. Heck, I've spent hours just playing the shooting range mini game. The over-the-shoulder camera just makes it feel like you are really sighting along the barrel of Leon's weapon.

Oh, if it's feasable, get the Gamecube version, if not for the better graphics then for the controller. It was designed to be played with the 'Cube controller, so it's going to lose a little soul in the port, as with any one-system game that crosses platforms. Don't just buy a 'Cube for this game though, even though I love the system I doubt it will be any less awesome of a game on PS2 provided it's the first time you play it.

Oh, and just to make sure you understood what everyone else was trying to tell you:

It's awesome! Buy it!

I played through MG on the Nintendo 3 times!
I can't even remember how many times I've played through MGS2/3, 4 times for MGS1 tho.
I got obsessed with getting all the dogtags in MGS2 on all the difficulties before I'd play any other game, not a good obsession.:(

I'm on my third round on easy, hardly anyway on my first round on normal. Haven't finished Mercenaries either, only unlocked Hunk so far, completed Ada's mission though.

Fun, fun game.

I played it for like 15 minutes in the store and i've played 1000's of games and this one was making me say " holy shit!" , :cheese: i had the biggest cheese on my face and i was amazed and kept blurting out like a crazy person, " omg this is ****ing awesome". Im sure random civilians must have known i was insane at this point.

It is THE game to get out of any game ever is what im thinking. If i had the money i would own it already
