Playing it right now on PS2 and I must say that it is by far my favorite RE game and definitely in my top 5 favorite games for the system right now. Amazing what the current gen can still do. :cheese:

You'll be able to pick up the PS2 version and play it on the PS3. It'll be a great way to get prepared for RE5, which is my most anticipated game at the moment

I got it and it makes the game just hilariously easy. Also, you can combine your spindels and other jewels and they become extremely expensive, so sell those to make more money if you really want the Typewriter.

excellent game, its lost the scare factor of the RE series, but makes up for it with awesome gameplay

One of my all time favorites. It's simply the best RE game ever made. The gameplay is OUTSTANDING and the graphics are, quite frankly, next-gen quality. Thanks for reminding me too.....with work it's been tough to just sit down and have a go. I need to play through it again. Besides Metroid Prime and LOZ: Wind Waker, RE4 is, IMO, the best GC game ever.

EDIT: damn i feel bad for selling my Gamecube together with RE4 today, just needed some cash for a new processor so i sold it

Yeah, it was probably the least scarry RE to date.
But I have to disagree about the dialouge and voice acting, they were better than any other RE.

THAT really bugged me. It was actually excellent at first... then you get to the castle, and they introduce Salazar, and the story and dialogue all go to shit :/
If they completely changed the RE gameplay and graphics for the better, why couldn't they do the same to the story and dialogue?

Yeah, all RE dialouge/story/acting was...pooish. But this was worse I tell you!

Uh it definitely wasn't. RE4 had the most decent voice acting and dialogue to date. I was quite happy. All the other REs had shitty voice acting and hilariously bad dialogue. At least with 4, its withstandable and not too bad to listen to. Leon's got a coolio voice.

Anyway, I just picked up RE4 for the PS2 and goddamn it is amazing.

Voice acting? Ok, fine, it was quite good. But dialogue? You must be kidding me. I physically winced several times playing through. Salazar in particular spouted awkward cliche after awkward cliche. The cutscene where he and Leon debate "acting", for example, was simply horrendous.
