I recently found some lines of dialogue from the HL scientist folder that i havent heard before.
They belonged to the group of speech, that you hear, when you go into the test chamber.

After c1a0_sci_dis12a there are soundfiles of scientists getting nervous and asking: "What is he doing in there" and finally soundfiles like "Get him out of there! Shut it down and someone get him out of there!"

Then there are the 2 lines you hear when you push the sample into the beam:"It's...It's not shutting down!" and "Gordon, get away from there!".

But the final line is: "He waited too long! We can't contain it!"

Is there something supposed to happen, when you don't push the sample into the beam?

Anti-Mass Spectrometer explodes?

There's a reason those were cut. They're still used in the teleporter to the Nihilanths chamber.

Actually, some of the sounds are missing. I wonder why game doesn't crashes at that point of the game (on software mode).

At which point? Before the Resonance Cascade or before the Lambda Team sends you to xen?

The level before the Nihilanth's chamber.

Note: I've just noticed that we hear Eli Vance's voice too.

Oh, I remember hearing it.

It's that red teleporter in the black void. I assumed it was just meant to be the last bit of human contact you have before taking on the Big One.

FYI, there is a scientist in the Nihilanth chapter.

1.I totally forgot about the faint sounds of scientists before going through the portal to Nihilanth's lair.

2.Where is the scientist.

3.The portal is not in the middle of a void.
If you look closer you can see cavern walls in the dark.
They're a background graphic though.
Noclipping is useless.

Do you guys think the portal resemblances to the Anti-Mass Spectrometer? As for the scientist, he can be found in the Gargantua part. He's sitting on one one of the rocks above the ground.

It's not a secret room. The Garg teleports to that part of the level after the second teleportation. Here is a picture of the scientist:

Neither did I Oo

Another thing though, I thought it was because of some sort of time lapse thing with the voices, the teleporte before Nhilanth was so powerful, it was ripping the fabric of time as well, and you were just peering into the past Oo

Made sense to me at the time =\

I just assumed the scientists were worried about Gordon's safety. It's good, because it means that the assault on the teleport as you left was foiled.

The teleport to xen thing?
Where the alien controllers pop out and start attacking you.
Sometimes i think, what happens to the scientist, who kept the teleporter running.

He died in Opposing Force...

No, he manages to escape.

I'd expect him to die, I mean, there are those controllers, and so just because Gordon runs through the portal, he's safe? And if in Opposing Force, you come into the portal RIGHT after Gordon, then the Scientist MUST have died Oo

AWESOME! I can kill another 'script and story important' scientis XD

The one you go through in HL1, Kevin.

Now that I look at it it looks similar to the Dark matter core.

omg maybe the combine synthed teleport orbs to make it

liek the houndeyes became hunters

NONO Narvi.
The teleport infront of him.
The one you go through is in the middle of the teleport.
This one is one the catwalk, where the scientist was when he started the teleport.

It was created when main teleport exploded, did you played Opposing Force?

O_=

Sorry, off topic ><
Anyways, I think what he's asking is (because you have to go through all those portals in sequence like a puzzle) Which one do you take to get to that Scientist. . .

If you don't push the Sample into the Chamber, the thing overloads and you die.

Wow, thats a nice alternative.

And no...i haven't played OP4 (only the demo) AND BS.;(

And you get the happiest ending possible...:P

I don't know man, I think the happiest ending possible is being fish food. . . think about it, your body goes to a good cause XD

And Kevin, you might want to clarify that you mean Blue Shift, and not Bull**** XP

This is the story-discussion section of a Half-Life forum. Everyone who enters this section is a big enough loser to know that he means Blue Shift.

True, but if you're just gong through, or scrolling to find the last post, the first thing that comes to mind is Bull**** Oo
and if that's so, why don't we just call it OF instead of Op4? Because it looks like 'of'?

Nice find, the scientist on the wall of the Garg chamber. I certainly never saw him before.

You he's trying to escape but can kill him...

Wait, do you mean he does escape if you leave him alone, or do you just see him trying to escape before you leave, or does he die anyway? I would have played Op4, but my 5-year-old evil b***ard computer scratched the disk up too much.
I always though those voices at the Nihilanth portal were happening at that very moment back at BMRF.

Because Op4 is actual military slang.

Then why wouldthey say 'Ah, Gordon, It's good to see you' or things along that line? Also, one of them said (I think) 'Weren't you supposed to be in the tes lab half an hour ago?' which would tell me, it's all from before.

And thanks for that, I didn't know Op4 Was military terminology. . . it even sounds military-ish Oo

If you only watching, he will escape but if you want you can kill him. Btw, in HL1 you can kill Eli Vance. :smoking:
