Riddick is a better character than Gordon Freeman

Riddick is a dumb marine type character that we've seen a 1000 times in 99% of the FPS's out there. He's a "tough-guy", not that different from the DooM marine, or Master Cheif.

At least Gordon was a bit different. In terms of character interaction the fact that Gordon is meant to be a physicist lead to some quite funny comments in Half-Life 2 !! Also, as has been mentioned in another thread, Gordon is Jesus!

He was different, untill HL2 - now he's as much a meat head (and HL2 is as much a 'run and gun') as you'll find in virtually every shooter out there - it just happens to be a really good one

It's a shame - Gordon has become your generic fps character. He used to be a protagonist we could relate with.

Gordon can, in fact, steal an enemy's gun and shoot them in the face with it. Are you familiar with the mod The Specialists? There's an "action Gordon" model in the game that I once used to run up to a guy, jumpkick his shotgun out of his hands, grab it in mid-air, spin around, and blast him in the face with it after turning full-circle. So the answer is yes. Why doesn't he do it in Half-Life 2? Doesn't need to.

Riddick also never fought striders, gargantuas, or a giant space baby. He's fought a bunch of winged aliens with huge blindspots and an undead guy who moves really fast. Gordon's gone through more and was just a research physicist, not a hardened criminal who has the blood of an ancient race of strong warriors.

I have also heard the rumor that Vin Diesel is, in fact, gay. Being gay is not a bad thing at all, of course, but the fact of the matter is that if the rumor is true, Vin Diesel could not tap Alyx's ass. Gordon Freeman, if he ever makes it out of his time/space containment, will most certainly be having hot, hot sex with Alyx Vance.

Advantage on all points: Gordon Freeman. He has limitless potential.

I say that riddick is best character for that but grodon freeman is a good character too for the feeling of "you are gordon freeman"
