I was at Ravenholm and I was in one of the houses, I seen a ladder going up to the top floor of a house so I climed up, meeting one or two headcrabs, nothing special. Then I seen a door upstairs, going to the outside, I opened it, looked to my left, seen one of those things jump from one roof, to the roof next to me (coming for me) so I got scared, shut the door. I then picked up a saw blade with my gravity gun, I sat right next to the ladder upstairs pointing the blade at the door, then before I knew it that little bastard was standing next to me! He came up the ****ing ladder and made that WREWEEWWEWWEEW noise that they made. I screamed louder than I ever have.

What made me jump out of my seat was when the zombie leapt out of the water just before you get the airboat. I've never screamed so loud! :p

out of the water?! is this just before the canals or do u get the boat a second time?

nah the radeoactive water when the crab pods come crashing down to yah from the citadell

i hit the roof wen that smoking chimney fell in route kanal

During the battle sequence in city 17 you go in a building, down a slope there is water. One of those fast zombies came out and I swear to god I wasn't expecting it. Good lord.

That part scared me too.. I jumped when i got attacked and started shooting wildly in an attempt to kill it.

The whole Ravenholm section was scary to me. It took me about 10 hours to finish it(total playlength). Damn, I was happy when I saw light at the end of the tunnel! :D

Ravenholm is one of my favorite stages, you just pick up different objects and hurl them at zombies, I carried a stock of barrels with me all the time. I only shot at poison headcrab zombies and speed zombies.

Man, late last night I finally get to the point in Ravenholm where Father Grigori gives me the shotgun, then I hear this horrible screech and see the silhouette of a zombie on a far rooftop. The damn thing leaps from rooftop to rooftop as I'm standing there slack-jawed and is on me in a moment. I might never forget that!

Hearing them climb the water spouts on the sides of the buildings and seeing the top of the spout swing from side to side was also an unreal moment.

yeah that got me to. i think everytime those damn things turn up i get nervous. they just move to fast, and they sound makes me bloody shiver, the only word i can think of to describe the sound it makes is 'horrendous'

edit: i really dont bloody like those things!!

haha yeah ive had where i was sprinting away from one and i looked behind me and it was gone and i looked to the side a bit and it was RIGHT next to me, scared the hell out of me!

Holy!

I beat ravenhold when my cusin was with me :D after i beat it My shotgun was out FULL ALERT...i was playing some map i forget..It was a bunch of Normal Combine Soldiers nothing munch my cusin leaves and its 12:00 p.m. im like ok i can play this its not scary.... i go into this room and theres a BUNCH of combine soldiers so i thought to myself There all dead nothing can come... after killing all combine i start walking like 7 of those "new" gonome models start attacking me from the window on top of roof... i was so scared that i thought i was gonna never play Hl2 in my life again....BUT ITS TO GOOD rofl

on the way to nova prospekt, when u gotta turn off the big pounders (dont know the name for them) and ur goin up the cliff up to the big storm drain, and right when u get inside it, the GD monkey zombie comes leaping right at u, i immediately hit esc and sat there for like 5 min tryin to get a grip on reality.

Yeah, I hate those crazy screetching zombies, they always give me the creeps. Well, it was in Ravenholm where i suddenly heard a loud screetch then I was attacked from behind, I turned around and saw a screetching zombie attacking me. I used up athe last two shotgun shells on it, then more of them came for me...I managed to kill them all but I was trembling uncontrollably after that experience.

In one of the rebellion levels I went down into an apartment which was flooded. I think "Oh great, I bet there's zombies." Yup zombies all over. But so far only the regular kind so I get to a platform and see stairs over a tiny pond of water. I think "Oh good, its over." I dive in and grab a plank with the zero point and suddenly i turn around and theres 2 fast zombies right in my face. I screamed like a woman and ran up the stairs only to have them follow. So I ran back down to find 3 regular zombies (with black headcrab heads) which made me scream even louder. I then took out the shotgun and just unloaded into them.

Took another 10 minutes for me to calm down. And they said Doom 3 was scary...

When you're on that little roof in Ravenholm and waiting for Father Gregori rescue you with the cable car thing. Seeing the metal pipes rattling as the monkey zombies are climbing... I was so tense and nervous I nearly shat myself. Good thing I camped right above them with the shotgun ready.

The part with the water where the two monkey zombies suddenly leap at you made me jump, but psychological terror is much more frightening than jump scares.

I'm heavily medicated right now (woo wellbutrin!), so I'm quite detached from everything at this point. Reality or otherwise.

Although I did think my cat was an Antlion for a second.

fast zombies=coronary!

when they drop through the skylights in some building in Ravenholm was the worst for me..

or just whenever you hear them howl in the distance..and they get a nearby answer!!

their speed, screams, and sneakiness all make them one of the scariest enemies in the game..

Okay, I take it back.

The bridge on the coastal route freaked me the heck out. I am really scared of heights, especialy ones in the outdoors. Crossing the iron beams, with the wind blowing and everything shaking... It reminded me of this one time I was up in a lighthouse in Maine. Both experiences freaked me out.

Scariest part for me was back in City 17 after Alyx leaves you alone. You go down underground to a dark room full of toxic waste, and zombies keep rising up out of it.

Those stupid dumbass hyperactive basterds scars the shit outa me!
And the black headcrabs that looks like giant spiders! and I have "AracnoPobia" so Im scared like hell when I see them...
