Shadow of the Colossus PAL release

This game is coming out in less than two days (on the 15'th), so go out and book it already.

Because we had to wait for such a long time after the NTSC release we get a better version of it too.
Four postcards with four different motives (see the picture below) and the PAL-version also features an exclusive interview with Fumito Ueda and Kenjj Kaido.

Dude, having played the American version, this game roxorz my boxorz so hard that I came like 5 bajillion times just watching the opening.

lol, the demo was really breathtaking when I first played it, especially when you exit the temple and into the world outside... OHMYGAWD.
Agro, the horse, almost feels like a real horse, the animations are just so freaking amazing.

MGS2 sucked balls??? You, my friend, are hard to please. When it first came out, I had seen nothing like it and it still amazes me that so early in a system's lifetime (the PS2) such an astounding title could ship so cleanly! Ah well, can't please everyone!

yeah, my friend got it for christmas.. and whoyl shit. It has got to be one of the most amazing games ever. If u have the chance... play this game! Mind blowing... and the musical soundtrack is freaking sensational! This game truely makes you feel small and insigficant at times... but the gamepaly and surroundings... are top notch!:thumbs:

It's the best time to get a ps2, all the good games are platinum and cost only 20,- bucks, They will keep you satisfied untill there is a good game library for the nextgen consoles.

i got my copy today, it was sold out in GAME :O , got it in HMV though(for a tenner less too woot), just started it, lovely intro, i love the music, just been riding agro around tbh, havent got to the first collusus, the framerate is very bad at times and the drops are very noticeable, also the camera never feels quite right so far :/, ah well looking forward to meeting up with my first colussi

The framerate isn't really that bad, it's noticeable but not near unplayable imo.

It's amazing what they could do with Agro, sometimes it really feels like a real horse. Place it near a pool and it'll go over and drink, if you are exploring a area you'll see Agro running around playfully. Simply amazing.
I also like the fact that there are NO FMV’s in the game, only cut-scenes that you can navigate around with the analogue pad like in Metal Gear Solid 2.

Can't wait to see what these guys can do on the Playstation 3.

The framerate takes a hit when you fight the colossi’s in the game, especially the really huge ones. I think this game really push the PS2 to its limit.

I felt that too when I defeated him in the demo, they are definitely no monsters that want to kill everything in sight. They just defend themselves because they know you want to hurt them, and kill them.
But that's what Ueda (the developer behind SotC) and his team wanted to create in the game, an emotional feeling when you defeat them.

I like how you control Agro in the game, think of it like you are riding a horse in real life. You control the character which then control the horse, not a 100% responsibility but that's basically what they wanted to do.
Like in the game GUN for an example, in it there were horses but they felt like sport cars and not a living creature.
Agro feels like he has a free will, sometimes when you call for him he wont listen, or just walk over like he's thinking "Whatever!" and sometimes he'll just basically really sprint towards you like a maniac. :E

Agreed on the soundtrack being good, feels like a movie.

just beat the 3rd colossus, definately the best so far, the setting for the fight was awesome too on the big platforn in the middle of a huge lake, heading towards the fourth one now...

That part was a little confusing but I guess it was Wanda, who else could it be? Wanda's sword? :E

I liked the part were you transform into a black colossi, I think they did that part just to give you a feeling how it basically is to be a colossi.

lol yeah i thought it might have symbolized Mono(wandas lady) being pregnant or something but maybe thats going to far :stare:

or just wanda reborn, supposedly the child had horns too like wanda at the end, just restarted playing it again. Wanda looks so much better at the start, his appearance has deterioated radically by the end...

i think i'll pick up Ico soon, really liked this although the Collossi were the main draw for me...Excellent game, yeah i liked playing as the Dormin at the end too and i liked desperately trying to keep Wanda's spirit from being suked into the pool :bonce:

Same, but is there a way to not getting sucked into it? I've read on another forum and there they discussed about it, some said that they couldn't save him from getting sucked in and others were a little more sceptical and said that there can be another ending in the game by not getting sucked into the pool.

Oh, and aren't Mono, Agro and the child pretty much stuck there now because of the bridge that collapsed at the end? Perhaps an indication of a sequel?

yeah i read that too at wikipedia actually i think or gamefaqs, supposedly some people managed to jump onto the pathway that you originally come down with agro at the games beginning but they couldnt get to the top, theres a rumour that theres an alternate ending if you reach the top but i think its just bs tbh, i mean the entrance was shut right once Emon and his men left, then it opened for Mono and agro and the child?

That's what I've just done

I thought now would be a good time to pick up a PS2 and scoop the cream off the top of the AAA back catalogue

Particularly as I don't plan on buying a PS3 in the near future
