Shredded Sails is a multiplayer Half-Life 2 modification that was developed by Teravision Games to show off their ability to create next-gen assets. Yet Shredded Sails has turned out to be one of the best mods we have seen in awhile!

Anyone heard of this? Any good?

I can't play it since I'm not at home, but if their aim was to create next-gen assets.. they have alittle more to go.

Hey you guys! This MOD is great!! In fileplanet.com says "Shredded Sails has turned out to be one of the best mods we have seen in awhile!" and in planetHalfLife they say : "After only playing this for 5 minutes I am impressed. My WooF Gaming Skills are on fire. Seriously this studio based mod is one of the best I have seen in a while. The guys over in FL who run TeraVissionGames need to pat-yo-self on the back for this modification".. I'm downloading right now..:afro:

I played it and it was shit.

It's basically HL2 DM with a new map and four or so new player characters, nothing else. The map wasnt really good, had loads of design issues (but they didn't do this for the gameplay) not to mention the graphics. If you use this to display your skills, arent you suppose to replace valve models and textures aswell? Also, some textures had some crazy normalmaps to them so they looked all weird.

I have no idea what fileplanet or planethalflife played, but it can't be the same mod I played.

Edit: This is weird, I saw the trailer they had on their site and it looks like a SP mod... I wonder why I didnt get that. I'll take a look and maybe I'll change my mind.

Edit2: I'm confused. The trailer is prolly staged. Blah.

I did play it and did enjoy it. Perhaps my knowledge regarding game maps and such is not as deep, but I guess an opinion of an amateur gamer counts also!!!!! I think it looks great! Anyone can recommend me other mods that I could use to compare it with Shredded Sails?

This mod sucks.
It just feels like HL2DM with new models.

Fileplanet and PHL were on crack when they called it the best mod that they've played in awhile.

Plus the mod title is misleading, I thought it'd be a pirate mod... and boy was I disappointed.

About Shredded Sails

Hello, I'm writing on behalf of Teravision Games.

I want to apologize if some of you were mislead in terms of the expectations you had with Shredded Sails. Like we expressed in our website, the only intension for this mod was to display our art ability and how could we put our art to work within a next gen engine and it was a project very small in scope, done in less than a month and with just a couple of artists. Like some of you may have seen, it has just 1 map and 3 characters.

We are still a very small studio and we didn't think our mod was going to have this level of exposure, some people in fileplanet liked the art we created and gave a lot of exposure to SS into the site (I have to say this came as a surprise for us), probably setting the expectation very high for some of you in terms of a completely developed mod, but like I said our main goal was to find clients with this and it has proven to be a very effective tool at that, but based on all the comments it has generated and the attention it has created we are looking forward to keep improving the game art and expanding it with more characters, level and weapons.

Thanks for your comments and we will consider them all to keep improving our products.
