Mods, could you please leave this one in the general games chat area, as there is more traffic here and silent hill is a game of course ;).

Good site...AND if you are an artist, you can create a poster for the movie. The winning poster will be shown in theaters. What an excellent idea, make the fans make the poster! Anyway here's the site:

Erm... the dialogue wasnt acted out very well... hope it's better in the movie.

The scenes looked pretty well done though.
I've been waiting years for some footage of this.
 
This could be the video game movie we've all been waiting for. :O

The poster would have to include the little girl, as she is a big part in the movie...but also the poster should show, the movie's evil side as well. Maybe that picture of Pyramid head like in Silent hill 2 just before you go down into the underground prison. The picture named Judgement day. That would be a good picture to use.

EDIT: sorry, the picture is named "Misty day, Remains of the judgement." Here's what I mean:

There might not be any Pyramid Head in this movie. But I really hope there will be, since its like one of the important creatures in the games. From what I've seen so far, everything in the movie looks great. I just hope the female cop is'nt any bitch fitting to Resident Evil ( per pants :I )
 
You can't have two "silent hill" texts in the same image. It says "silent hill" on the title, and it also says "silent hill" on the sign by the road. It loses the viewers interest (it's poor design).

The ideal poster would be the little girl laying on the ground with a flashlight, like seen in the flash intro the the silent hill website. And the text "Silent Hill" above. It would best capture the essence of the movie.

That's a nice concept right there. If someone with any knowlage of graphical work made it, it wouldn't be too bad.
 
Pyramid Head is in the movie. Hell, he's in the trailer.

You didn't read my entire post did you?? The trailer is on the site I posted. It comes up right after you enter the site. YES there is a Pyramid head, along with little grey children, silent hill 2 demons that look like there in straight jackets and nurses in the hospital..Watch it!

You ever seen the artwork for the silent hill 1 game? You know, Harry mason covered in fog, with his daughter in the background? That would be awesome. Just put in the main character and her daughter. Hang on. I think I may be on to something here.
 
Earlier in the thread he said he couldn't stop watching the trailer. I mean the same one that's on the site, Garfield.

That looks pretty good. But in my opinion it has to be something smaller. Instead of the woman taking up most of the picture, she should have a small area where she's visible, and a bunch of pitch blackness surrounding her. Since thats what most of the games are like, you can rarely see much except for the flashlight and the characters face.

Just my opinion though. It looks good.

Well..my idea is to have that picture but to have her daughter standing in the background..that image has to look specific though. I may add some other stuff too it though.

The light from the flashlight looks sort of like a pool of vomit here. Could be some other type of vile effluence too though, especially given the source material. Just something to consider....

I say it'd look better with just the girl. But the movie companys always want the main actor/actress at the front.

That's what I'm thinking.

The poster should show what Silent hill is mainly about, Which is a mother looking for her daughter. Also (the most important part) the poster should also show the normal and evil side, as silent hill has 2 sides to it..a normal side (not good side because the movie is about nothing good) and the evil side or alternate side of silent hill. I thought up of a lot of ideas, but the most important facts about silent hill, should jump out at you, if you played all the games and know what it's about. I'm just fooling around with photoshop with a bunch of pictures to see what I can get. I'm working on another one. Unfortunatly, I can't enter the contest because I don't live in the USA, but I'm just doing it to compare mine to the winniers' poster.
 
Ok. I'm sorry for the double post, but I finished my second poster concept. I think it's a bit better than the first one..it has the light and dark aspects of silent hill (Fog, Darkness) and it shows the main character and her daughter like a shadow in the distance in the bright fog.

EDIT: I also e-mailed sony pictures to request that they open the contest to Canadian residents so I can enter my poster as well. If they do agree, they will have to do it soon, as the contest closes on January 3rd.
