Never played the game, how faithful is it?

Ahh right, okie, well it still sounds interesting, and you never know, they might be saving the second one for another movie or maybe a mini-series or something, depending how the first one fairs financially.KagePrototype said:It's kind of similar storyline to the first game, where you're Harry Mason and you're looking for your daughter, who's run off into Silent Hill after a car crash. but the fatal disease stuff, making a "deal" with the demon little girl (who IS in the first game, just not in this way) weren't in the game. I'm really dissapointed that they didn't do the second game's storyline, which was ten times better IMO, and which I honestly thought was much better as movie material.
[EDIT]: For those who don't have them, I've decided to upload the (unofficial) plot guides to the first two games. They're fantastic reads, and really flesh out the Silent Hill universe.![]()

Richard Peper said:Well, the problem is that the first Silent Hill was a horror while Silent Hill 2 was more of a psychological thriller. The story for SH2 was also less complex than that of the first. Although both can be confusing, as the stories leave you with only enough information to figure out what is happening (which is good). SH2 was more about relationships between people and SH1 put empahsis on the origin and atmosphere of the town. Silent Hill 2 would make a better movie; especially if the movie industry plans to make a sequel based on the popularity of the first movie.
Pressure said:You're looking at it from the perspective of someone who is familiar with the game and the story behind it. You msut realise that the vast majority of people going to see it won't even know it's based of a video game. If they were to skip how that happened to the town, which I hope they don't, then that'll be one of the biggest questions from people who've seen it and aren't familiar with the game. I say introduce how it happened in the first to get the ball rolling then move onto a story line similiar to the second for a sequal.
